Hi, Mrsatow, Sorry, to give you some bad news. Your Clock Module/Oven Control Assembly is bad
and needs to be replaced. This item probably will cost you in the neighborhood of $200.00 plus labor to install You will have to provide your parts dealer such as Marcone Appliances or Sears with a model number in order to order this part. Hopes this help! Handy Henry

Hi Brian, thank you for your post!

Sounds like the either both bake and broiler element may be faulty or a potential wiring failure to the elements. You may want to connect with a local servicer who will be best equipped to pinpoint the problem. If you don't know a qualified technician, you can use the service locator option on the manufacturer site to find one near you.

My oven wont heat up?

Hello there:
first chevck to see if the broil feature will work but if both the broil and bake feature does not work meaning it will not heat up if you have selected either the bake or broil follow these solutions that i have provided for you .
It won't bake or broil If neither the bake nor the broiler heating elements heat, but the range burners still work, the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. Check to be sure the clock buttons and knobs are set properly. If your clock has a knob that says "push for man(ual)", push the knob in and try the baking and broiling elements again. If it still does not operate properly, you probably have a defect in the thermostat, selector switch, or common wiring. If the oven does not have a separate bake/broil/etc. selector switch, the problem may be with the thermostat. But it's not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

I have a GE oven that the oven part only doesnt come on, the top burners and broiler come on, is this something I can fix?

Most likely a bad bake element. Turn off the power to the range. Remove the oven racks. Remove the retaining screws holding the bake element to the rear wall. Carefully pull the element terminals out of the rear wall. CAREFUL now,the wires will be short. Remove the wires. If you have a volt ohm meter you can test the element for continuity. Set the meter for ohms or continuity and touch one meter lead each to the element terminals. If you get no reading replace the element with a new one. If you do get a reading your ERC clock is bad.

Oven won't ignite but broiler does

If your oven won't bake, check these:

Bake igniter
Other causes
Bake igniter Usually when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake igniter is weak or burned out. The igniter is a small, round or rectangular device, that's about 1 inch by 4 to 8 inches. It's near the burner itself.

The burner is the tube-type device the gas flows through before it's ignited. It has many small holes on the sides to let the gas, when ignited, form a long, low flame. If the igniter is weak, if it glows red but doesn't get hot enough, or if it's burned out, the gas doesn't flow to the burner and the burner won't ignite. If this is the problem, you may need to replace either the igniter or the gas safety valve. Usually the igniter is to blame.

Other causes Other reasons that your oven may not bake are:

  • The clock settings are incorrect (if you have timed baking or a self-cleaning oven).

  • The thermostat is defective.

  • The safety valve that prevents accidental gas flow is defective.

  • The selector switch is defective.
