I don't see any connection on a pot that could be touched to cause the problem. OFTEN when screws are too long and they touch a board they can crack the circuit traces or PUSH etch to cause a short.

Use a BRIGHT LED flashlight to "candle" the board for cracks or scrapes. The voltage regulators are current limited and self protecting. The first thing is to determine what the screw touched and look for damage in that area.

I hope you replaced the pots with the CORRECT TAPER as well as resistance value. Whille incorrect taper would not inhibit operation, it would make adjusting the pots in use somewhat difficult.

I have a vox vt40 and the light for the power comes on bit there is no sound. I talked to someone with the same amp and they said there is a clip that switches on the tube that tends to go out with this...

If your amp isn't producing signal, your best bet is to take it into a local Vox autorized repair shop. There are leathel voltages involved and if you're not an experienced tech, you can get hurt, not to mention screwing to amp up worse. Here's a link to the Vox contact page http://www.voxamps.com/contactus
And one to find the list of Vox repair shops.

Why won't my clavinova clp 150 play?

Hi, Could be a lot of different things.

Does it play through headphones?
If so this implies an amplifier issue.
Does it play when you press the demo button - if so it could be a keyboard issue.

Carry out a factory reset by holding down highest note whilst turning on. Watch screen does it report anything?

Let me know what it says and I will try and help.

Vox vt40 factory reset

Consider reading the Manual for this amp, it explains how to reset to factory with the VFS5 footpedal. Or with the power off ..hold down CH1 & CH4 then turn power on.. when the Bank & Channel leds start blinking.. then release the Channel buttons. Next press the Tap switch ... the bank & channel leds will change from blinking to lit. with in a few seconds it will enter preset mode.

My da5 does not work on battery power

Not to suggest you are an amateur; I'm sure you are not. Nor do I suggest that I am, but if the amp works fine on AC, then the problem must lie in either the polarity of the C-cell batteries (put in wrong) or the contact points are dirty. That's all I got, Jack. . .

No sound

You would NOT use a stereo cable to plug in your guitar.

The stereo cable would carry the battery voltage back to the amp and MAYBE cause the fuse to blow.

You use a MONO instrument cable for your guitar.

The ring connection is use to complete the circuit to turn on the battery in most guitars.

Replace the fuse ONCE and get the proper instrument cable (NOT consumer audio cable) for your guitar.

If fuse blows again, take amp to shop for service.
