A neighboring car pushed a shopping card into the rear portion of the front drivers side quater panel -- that 6 to 8 inch portion behind the wheel-well. It's pushed in up to 1 1/2 inches max and 8 -10 inches long making opening the door all the way impossible withut doing further damage to the quarter panel. Should I remove the quarter panel and push back out or remove the door so I can manually pull it?

You can try removing the quarterpanell,& straightening it,but you are better off getting the offending neighbour to pay a body-shop to fix it Taking the door off is very involved &you will have to re-attach it, (not easy)

How do I remove rear seat in 99 escort 4 dr

There is usually two ways they have seats in. Press down hard on a rear corner of lower portion (part you sit on) of seat and look and feel for a bolt at rear of seat. Would be one on each side. The other way (if no bolts) is you have to get in car and use your knee and push back hard on lower part of seat while lifting front edge. There is a portion of seat frame that hooks in under front edge of seat and you must push in hard to get it to back away from tab in floor that it is hooked into. Push in and lift up on both sides and it should pop out. Have seen some cars that have small push / pull tab at front edge of lower portion - but that is usually on Asian cars.

The bottom portion of the seat is commonly retained in SLOTS, oriented front to rear, with openings rearward. The back portion of the seat gets pushed down, to squeeze under the other part. The front needs to slide back about 1 to 2 inches. there are usually two catches, one on each side, but in about 4 to 6 inches

How do you remove the hard top from a 1975 450SL?

There is a soft top tool that should be in the tool kit for the car(although you could use a flat blade screw driver). There are 4 securing posts that must be turned to un secure top. 2 are above the sun visors and 2 are just behind the front doors where the b pillar would be if it was a sedan. Make sure you un plug the defroster connector behind passenger seat on side panel. There is a crank behind the driver's seat that secures the rear portion of the top and activates your storage compartment lid. The cables can stretch causing it not to pull the securing latch. If it doesn't work try taking a long screw driver and pushing the latch. You can adjust the cable when the top is off. It will take 2 people to remove the top once it is loose. good luck
