If the coil wire is snaped then you will need to replace all the coil. usually the power from the outlet goes stright to the coil and connects to both ends of it's windings

I suggest that you set the "Auto Time Off" much longer or turn it off by setting it to 0, and use a standby of 400 degrees after 10 minutes instead.
The reason is that every time this soldering iron has to turn on, it's trying to heat up in about 5-10 seconds. When it does that, it applies full wattage to the heating element, and putting full wattage on them a lot of times is what's burning them out. If the soldering iron maintains the same temperature while not soldering, it only uses 20-30% of the full wattage to keep it at the set temp. This isn't nearly as hard on the heating element.

Hi, I'm not sure the tip is defective. Check that the tip is screwed in tight. If it is not good and tight the tip will not get a good heat transfer from the solder wand. Hope this helps. If the wand will heat then the tip should.

When you fill the soldering iron with butane you must have it turned so the butane can is held upside down. Liquid butane must be able to flow into the iron. It's most likely that you held it upright and even though gas butane would have flowed in it would not be enough to light it. Only fill it outdoors.
