You may have two water filters, one in the back of your refrigerator tied in between the house line and

your refrigerator, you may have this if you have hard water and no water softner. but there is also one

on the refrigerator itself, it has a base water cartridge either located behind the grille, or may have a slot

in the grille. located below the freezer compartment door. if it is thru the grill rotate counter clockwise

and pull out, some water will spill, it should have a number on it, just remember when getting

any kind of parts, you will need make and model number, serial number and part number, if you do not

have the part number, so long as you have the rest and take the part with you, they can match it up.

if you need more info you can go to appliance and you can download a parts diaghram

for your appliance and any instructions. they will also carry the part you need. good luck!

Nasty tasting ice cubes

Change the supply line to the plastic tube line or copper. Do not use a braided plastic or metal braided line these will make the water taste bad. Changed mine to the plastic line and cured mine, no filters needed.

We had a new kitchen faucet put in today and the water tastes terrible now. Can we do something?

Nothing other than let the water run at 1/4 throttle in an attempt to clear the nasty tasting water from the supply lines. Let it run for maybe an hour and taste it again.

Working on the lines might have shook loose the foul taste way back up the system. I would hope an hour would clear it but it may take more.

Some cities with less than perfect water will flush their supply lines by opening fire hydrants in a certain pattern designed to shake loose deposits from inside the supply pipes. They often report that people have bad tasting water for days afterwards - perhaps in a few days you might get your relief too?

Ice tastes like plastic. New LG French Door.

I sure hope you are using an in-line filter for starters, then if the ice still tastes bad, check the source line.

Terrible taste that came from water?...

Do you have a water softener? It's possible the softener was in soak when you used the water dispenser. That would explain the "salty" (hi sodium) water taste and thena retrun to normal later.

Also, if you get your water from a muncipal well, they may have been experiencing a problem at the time with higher than normal sodium content.
