I'm in a similar situation with a physical neccessity for a/c, year round, even though I live in temperate New Jersey. My husband is an A/C / Refrigeration tech & here's some things you can try to fix your Haier A/C.
1.) Make sure you keep the area where the filter is clean, if you aren't using a filter, you are clogging the air flow much quicker, which can lead to freeze ups.
2.) Due to how shoddy things are made now-a-days & with the storm coming through, you may have a conked out compressor or may have a small refrigeration leak, which can also cause freeze ups.
3.) Make darned sure that the unit is level, if you find it is not, leave your unit off for at least 24 hours for the refrigeration gas & oil in the system to level off.
Sadly, I do not know the model or type of Haier A/C you have & as I'd mentioned, things are no longer made to last like they once were & to get 3 years from a newer model is likely to be the best you can hope for. Haier is fairly decent with wanting to keep up customer morale & if it's a newer unit (younger than 18 months), they may help you to repair it for free or low cost. Good luck with that!

Air conditioner will not drain and freezing in the front

My mother bougth a Haier air conditioner and had the same concern about not having any drainage system. After reading and trying to find solutions, I read somewhere that this is a new technology where the fan creates a mist and the water evaporates although during the whole summer my mom's air conditioner never froze. There is an add on that you can buy to have a drain.

for what it;s worth... thanks

If your Haeir window A/C unit is spitting water

I got this tip from this site yesterday when my Haeir A/C window unit began spitting water. Look for either a hole on the bottom edge of unit or a horizontal **** on bottom of unit it will either be in the front or back, take a toothpick or if your A/C is in a window unit and your target is on outside, take a long broom, bristle end up and brush out between window ledge and unit, any dirt that may have collected there. This will unclog the hole(s). You should also try to drain any water collected, out of unit. Turn A/C back on, it may do the same thing for about 15 minutes, but the problem should go away. Remember, you may not be actually able to see the hole or ****, but IT IS THERE. Make sure you brush it as thoroughly as you can. It worked for me. Thanks FixYa!!!

Haier 5500 window unit, spits water into the room sometimes. Also, water "sloshes" around inside the fan area & is quite noisy sometimes. ? Thankyou for your assistance...

You will need to reposition the unit to where it will be tilted downwards slightly outside.
The water will then flow out the back and not spit into the room.

We got our unit about a week ago brand new ... It has been building up ice inside and spitting out water!

Have you checked to see if drains are at back, and unit requires a slight tilt down and out the window?
Most do.

I had this same problem. I disconnected the thermostat wire out side at the condenser and reconnected it and it started working. A couple days later it blew the breaker again this time I found the bus where the L1, L2. GR wire connect at the condenser had melted. I wire nutted all 3 wires instead of the using the bus everything is working right again. Hope this helps.

Not running. The fan is not running at all. Had

Start by checking the breakers for both the heat and air. Turn them both off and then on again. 75% of the time that is all it is. Turn them off and on EVEN if they look like they are not tripped.

Hoffwell Air Conditioner KFR 61GW turned itself off

You may want to check the thermocouple. It should be located on the front coil. You have to remove the front cover to see it. However, close the vents and try it. If is overly humid that front coil will just condense all available outside humidity and the thermostat will be frozen. Pull the thermo stat away from the coil so it is not being frozen. Replace TC after that test Good luck.

Blackberry Storm got wet and does not even turn on now. Switched batteries, placed in bag of rice and blew fan on it for two days - all to no avail.

some times water is still in the phone...
If you have a blow dryer then u can dry it out...
By turning it on every side the phone will get hot but will dry it out...

The battery may have water in it too do the same to it....

Do this for 3 days then try to charge your cell phone for 24hrs...
Then push the power on to see if it works and some times u have to press the power switch down 2 or more times....
Because my phone does that some times..
So good luck to ya..,,,
