Re: light for meter on cobra 200
The meter uses a fairly standard 12 volt mini amp, I don't know if Radio Shack carries them anymore, but any decent CB repair shop should have it. Workman Electronics distributes these to dealers, their part number is "CMB".

With the Cobra NW units, they have a separate power supply for the lighting, in most cases the power supply fails and the NW lights do not work any longer., there is also a socket where the tape lighting for the face plats back lighting slides in to the socket this may be loose as well. If you need further repair service let me know.
The light is a small 12 volt lamp that you should be able to find a similar one at Radio Shack. The wires are soldered to it but you can cut the wires and solder them to the new lamp. The lamp is held in place in the meter by a rubber grommet. You can take the case off the radio and just pull the lamp out of the side of the meter. Don't get to power full of a lamp or you will melt the meter.
First off, the 200 GTL DX is a 10 meter radio. Running it on 11 meters (CB) is illegal, as it is not FCC type accepted. If you go below 26.965 mhz, you are outside of the 11 meter band, and operating illegally.12 meters does not start until 24.930, so ultimately, the freq's between 24.930 and 26.965 mhz are restricted even to a licensedamateur radio operator.
The calibrate knob only calibrates the radios SWR meter, the owners manual will show you the procedure for that. If your ANT light is coming on, it is telling you that your SWR is to high, and may cause damage to the radio from reflected power. You should purchase an in line meter as the radios internal meter may be somewhat unreliable. You need to tune the antenna to the lowest SWR possible. Typically anything under 2.0:1 is acceptable. Radio Shack sells a meter for about $50, and is pretty accurate. Antenna mounting can also cause high reflection if it is to close to other objects. Google "CB antenna tuning" or read the instruction manual for you antenna, and you should be able to figure out how to properly tune the antenna.
