Question about BOSS AUDIO SYSTEMS BV9155B Car Video Player

Open Question

I have a Boss BV9155B that I installed a XO Vision backup camera to. I have power to the camera and I ran the yellow Video lead to the A/V Video Input on the back. I can go to "Rear Camera" mode, touch the blue warning screen, which takes you to the settings screen. I then select Video from the menu items on the bottom (may not be necessary), adjust the brightness, and then back. I have a really good picture for about a second and a half then it goes back to the blue warning screen. When I repeat I just hit back from the settings screen and I get my image back - again for only a second or so. Subsequent tries may or may not result in an image. Most tries just get me back to the blue warning screen. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I solved it By connecting the pink wire to a constant ground this acts as a bypass so the unit plays anytime.

hi there
it shouldn't be to hard to install this but it does require cutting a hole in your interior part of roof........a install like this could take anywhere from 30 mins - 1hr for a installer to put it in. to do it yourself it could take 1-3hrs to complete (note for your first time doing this take your time and follow the install manual that will be provided)

SOURCE: help me with back up camera for xo vision xod1740bt

I am just giving a suggestion. I too need to know how to wire this. From what you posted it sounds like you hooked the wire to a constant +12v that is always on. Forgive me if I am wrong. Anyway, Did you connect this wire to rear reverse light power. I think from what you say it is supposed to be connected to the positive side of that light. If this solves your problem can you PLEASE let me know the full details of everything else you hooked up on the circuit to make the backup work. For instance what is the label of the orange wire. TIA.

Is there a way to shuffle songs on the BOSS BV9155B? When ether using a cd or an SD card?

Hello Eric, Hi, thats a very nice function we could have, but you see, shuffling through a CD and an SD card will take some processor action, like in computers, but these may make the Unit more expensive. I say buy a much bigger SD capacity card and place your Favs on the SD, you may never use a CD to swap with.

You need to buy an amp adapter. SCOSCHE OEA4 4-Channel Adjustable Factory Amplifier Int. 23 bucks on ebay. You most likely have a factory amp in your car and the head unit's speaker output wires are already amped. the factory amp can't understand the audio signal.

Check that you have good ground connections.

Use DVM to check if you have 12VDC to player.
If you have no DVM, you can use small car light bulb with leads.
If bulb lits from ground and hot wires, then player is bad. Or most likely a loose connections.

Thanks for everyone's help. The bcar screen actually is the backup camera screen which is activated by the orange wire and when I turned on the lights, it got activated. I disconnected the orange wire and everything is fine. When I get a backup camera I'll connect that wire to the backup lights so that it will come on whenever I put the car in reverse. You are right that their manual is not very clear at all. I called their tech support and they couldn't help me trouble shoot the problem either. The unit is functioning perfect now but my next beef is that you can't change the XO vison default screen when a cd is playing. It would have been nice if you can scroll some jpeg shots of anything else besides looking at the xovision logo. I guess I can't have it all for $340 so, I'll stop whinning.
