Question about Weather King 12AJA4801AH Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Weather king 14ahj11s01c01 The fan is sporadic at times, going in and out at no given interval. I will blow for 5 seconds, slow down, blow for 3, stop for 4, then start again.. then sometimes it will blow steady for a while.. there is no pattern to it. It does this is in both heating and cooling mode whether the fan is on auto or set to on.

Furnace lights than goes out after 5 sec over and over Weather King 80pj series

There is a sensor called a flame sensor that is located in the burner box either far right or far left and will be in the flame of a burner. There will only be one wire to it. It sometimes collects carbon and may need to be cleaned. The circuit board only allows a very few seconds for the flame to travel from the pilot or ignitor to each burner. If one or more of the burners are dirty, it will slow down the flame travel. Watch as each burner ignites and travels down the line. You can take a can of compressed air and blow out the burner tubes but be careful around the ignitor as it is very delicate. Once you have found the flame sensor, use a toothbrush or scotch brite pad to polish it. Check the wire connections at the sensor and board. Also look at all wiring connections from board to cabinet ground. Good Luck.

If you are able to replace the relay yourself, I would go to the internet first, Try this link. If you don't feel that you can replace the part, call a pro.

Weather King 8PJ10NDR01 When I turn the heater switch to ON position the furnace runs what sounds like an internal fan. Second, the igniter glows and when it reaches it's hottest stage the fan thrusts air...

The gas valve is not sensing flame, and the unit shuts down on safety.

Chances are the flame sensor is bad, its a common problem.

If its a thermocouple you can buy one for 10 bucks, If its a newer style they can usually be had for less than 30.

They are easy to replace ad they are usually installed with two screws and one to two wires.

They sit directly in the flame pattern in front of the burners.

A service call should only cost you 250 or less for the repair, but you can do it yourself for less than 50 (including gas to drive to the HVAC supply house that sells your brand unit.)

You will need the model and serial #s when locating the parts.

HEY< the compressorstart-up amps is 2-3 times the run amps. Once it gets up to speed, then the small run amps is all thats needed to keep it there! The one time fuses--assoon as it hits the rated amps it blows to protect the system, the slow-blow fuses has a few seconds to heat and blow if the amps stay to high and don't go back down below the rated amps! Thank-you-very-much
