If it can play in a DVD format it should play fine in your DVD player, What country code is the DVD?? what country code is your DVD player??? they have to match... if it's in a AVI format than forget the project... DVD players DO NOT PLAY AVI (welcome to the Micro$$$oft world) you need a Windoze PC to play it...

Panasonic DVD S48 - DVD player how to play movies over usb

Yes, I know Panasonic DVD S48, if your movie file is right divx avi movie file, you can directly transfer the divx avi movie file to your usb disk and play on your Panasonic DVD S48, but if your movie files isn\'t divx avi movie file, you have to use a right software to convert your movies to right divx avi movies, then transfer to your usb disk, convert any movies to divx avi movies.

My fukuda dvd player plays video files (AVI) from flashdisk (USB) but... the sound is not smooth...

Most DVD players only accept MPEG-2 in standard VOBs. Some of the older standalone DVD players do not play AVI at all. Now some of the newer DVD players support AVI encoded with DivX. Look into the player manual, it'll tell you what formats are supported. If the DVD player does not support AVI, it will fail to play AVI files even if we have successfully burn AVI to DVD disc.

In order to successfully play all kinds of AVI files on any DVD player model, an all-in-one solution is to convert AVI to DVD player more compatible format.

Not able to play mkv 1080 with sound in my new LG DV6H DVD player(only video is playing).

LGDV6H wont play mp4. IT plays well mkv, avi and other formats. You will have to convert files to mkv to play and its very easy. Download mkvtoolnix from http://www.bunkus.org/blog/ and use the program mkvmerge. add your files and mux it. BEWARE after adding and before muxing please select each track and go to 'extra option' and select in compression 'none'. Then mux it and play the mkv file. Trust me it works. It has worked for me.Even mkv files that wont play can be muxed again with the previous settigns and then it plays. Its taht simple.

I have prepared a home movie on Windows Movie Maker and when I copied it to a DVD it would not play on a dvd player can anyone tell me what I did wrong please thanks joe

The reason why the DVD disk you created may not contain the file format the DVD player recognizes. On a normal DVD disk there are two folders - AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. The video files are located in the VIDEO_TS folder. This video folder contains the VTS_xxx.vob video files (the video files has a .vob extension).
The video file you created may have a avi or wmv or mov or mpg extension, whilst these video files can be played on a computer but they won't play on a DVD player.
Check the movie software you are using and make sure it creates the correct file format for a DVD player.

Can you play the DVD's in a DVD player that is attached to a TV? Most DVD players will play an AVI file....Keep in mind that data will only last for 5 years on any CD or DVD......if it is stored correctly.....Heat Kills.....Let me know if you can get it to play on a regular DVD player...(NON PC)

LG RH188H - what movie file types does it play?

Hi,
AVI are a certain type of movie file.
Your problem is most likely that you do not, have the correct software ( program ) installed on your computer to view these files, yet i believe do play on a normal DVD Player.
you could try Windows Media player, this may work for you. also power DVD or Similar. although there are newer programs out there. as for the conversion, this is a long winded process in itself. To convert AVI To MPEG ( standard DVD Format ) you need unpacking tools and software, And a relatively high spec PC, Lots Of Memory.
Hope this guides you.

Sansui VRDVD4000 format

I do not believe this player plays AVI videos, not to mention whatever codec you are trying to use.

Download VSO ConvertXtoDVD and convert your AVI files to DVD and then burn them to DVD-R (NOT DVD+R), the 4.7GB discs (single-layer).

This process takes a very long time, depending on the size of the movies you are converting, some 1-2 hours, some 8-24 hours.

I suggest buying a Philips DVD Player that plays DivX and XviD AVI files, they seem to be the best. You can just burn the AVI to any disc and it will play. [Most popular seems to be Philips DVP 642]

Cheers.
