Sounds like your pump is stopped up or clogged and not able to turn. The pump is on the bottom side and usually the dw will have to be taken out to remove it and replace or clean it.

I have a Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer refrigerator. A couple weeks ago it starting buzzing very loudly when the motor is running. The back is enclosed but I vacuumed underneath. It seems to be work

Is the sound coming from inside the appliance? If so, there are two possibilities. An item in the fridge (bottles are the usual culprits) could be resting against a surface that vibrates during operation. Or it's a problem with your circulation fan: it is either hitting something when it spins or has a bad bearing and needs replacement.

If the sound is coming from under/behind the box, your compressor is banging against something or it is on its way out.

Loud buzzing noise and not cooling

When you say buzzing sound is the sound coming from the back? If so either the relay overload in the compressor has gone bad or the compressor itself. The part number for that is going to be Pt# 8201786. Now if the sound is coming from the inside of the freezer something may be obstructing the evap. fan motor and not allowing air to circulate.

Just bought it. quiet for 2 hrs then an inconsistent scratching, buzzing scraping kind of sound that we CAN't sleep through. compressor is working fine and so is fan. HELP??!!

Might have something loose or broken and is hitting the fan inside. If it is a slushing sound, that is the water being slung back up unto the fan blade and condensor coil to cool the inside of the unit.

I have a new lg window air conditioner that is buzzing loudly when the compressor turns on. as soon as the compressor shuts off it stops buzzing. the buzzing noise also sounds like a playing card attached...

sounds as though the contactor is not pulling in tightly. but it also spunds as though the fan or fans might be hitting some thing . check them out shut the unit down and spin the fans and see if you hear something. if not then it could well be a contator .. But as I think a bit more could be lose fan, or compressor is not setting on it isloator bushings .

Frigidaire FRS26R4AW5 buzzing sound not cooling

Something has stopped your compressor. The part could be the start relay, start capacitor, overload or the defrost control board. where are the buzzing sounds coming from ? Sea Breeze

Yesterday started hearing a buzzing sound from the fridge. Came home today with a pool of water in the kitchen coming from the fridge. Opened the freezer, ice is melted and inside is relatively warm....

I would check for a bad starter relay first unless you can verify that the sound is comming from the compressor. How to check stuff> http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php

I hear a buzz sound for 5 seconds when compressor starts.

The grommet simply holds the start relay in place.  Unless it is torn, you won't need it.  Likely the start relay.  The buzzing is possibly the relay contacts on the start relay burning if the problem occurs when the compressor starts...although it could be the compressor making noise as well.  You might try to "hear it out".  The start relay gives a boost to the compressor by adding in another winding inside to 'kick' the compressor.
If all you hear is the buzz, you might just wait a bit to see what fails!

There's a buzzing sound coming from my central air conditioner unit outside. The fan is quiet but I hear a buzzing sound. Should that be happening? Sounds like there's something loose.

Things that are not broken: The big relay that powers the compressor often hums or buzzes when the unit is running. Several brands of heat pumps keep their reversing valve "on" any time the thermostat is set for "cool". They buzz, too.

If something really is loose, the only way to fix it is to look at the machine and take off panels until you find what is buzzing.

Refridge and freezer stopped cooling

it is either the start switch on the side of the compressor or the compressor itself.
the buzzing sound is the start switch trying to start the compressor and the click is the overload on the start switch kicking it out.
the start switch is bad or the compressor is pulling too much amps = bad compressor.

Compressor problem?

The buzzing is your compressor trying to start. It is going off on internal overload caused by heating up of the motor windings. If you have an amp meter you could check the amp draw of the comp against the locked rotor amps listed on the tag You could try to have someone test your run capacitor, which looks like a can. Could be round or oval with wires coming off it. Or try a hard start capacitor and relay to bust it loose if compressor rotor is stuck. If that doesn't do it the comp is bad.
