Use dental tools. usually you can see the pulleys that the belt runs through. pretty easy fix.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Need a belt kit for a Technics M227X Cassette deck. Where can I get one with instructions and any additional tools for installation?

where do you live and what are your local electronics distributors? this is where you get your parts and for your first question if your determined to try to repair your unit than might i suggest a methodical deconstruction and reconstruction. tape transport units are complicated and you better be prepared, components include clutch assembly's housed under gear plates and timed by position censors.
it is not as easy as just replacing a belt

Ar you ready for this ?

Tape deck repair

If the belts are replaced the unit may still need oil in the flywheel which should have been done when the belts were changed, or oil applied to the motor bearing or the motor itself might be done. You might need a new one- they do not last forever

How to hook up a tape deck to marantz sr5005 receiver

You can use any of the analog audio inputs (red and white) on the back. There is none that corresponds to tape deck but you can use any of them, just remember which one you used and select it to hear your tape deck. Good luck.

Took my Marantz 5025b to shop to replace belts, they also want to replace pinch rioller and idler tires, is that standard and do you know where I can get them, thanks

All of them are prone to wear so it is good practice to replace them, even if the others don't need to be replaced.
Belts are not maker specfic, and can be found by just measuring the diameter in MM and entering it into Google. Rollers and Tires however are not universal. In some cases only the maker of the deck will be the only source of them.

Where to buy a crawl tool to reinstall belts of sony tc we 605s cassette tape deck

Hi,
There is no crawl tool to reinstall belts in this tape deck, it just needs little expertise/ skills.
First put flat belt on motor pulley then slowly thread the flat belt on both capstan wheels with help of tweezers or some thing.
Let me know your email to send you related service manual free copy that has exploded views of mechanism and I hope that will help you to reinstall belts in correct direction/ way.
Thanks.

Marantz CP430 fault

Hello,

I have had the exact same problem with a CP430, Whether in Play Rewind or Fast Forward, after a short duration the tape stops. After a lot of Looking & thinking, I noticed that a few seconds prior to the tape stopping, the tape counter stops. (If you dismantle this unit be sure to work in an orgainsed fashion,& you will need some tiny Phillips head screwdrivers too) If your not confident then dont proceed.

The tape counter is driven by a belt, & on the spindle that drives the counter is a magnetic wheel, that runs past a sensor on a PCB.

I didn't have a replacement belt, so dismantled the unit, & chemically cleaned the Belt (cellulose thinners), until no more 'black' came off, in order to eliminate the possibility of tape slip, I also used a stiff toothbrush, to clean the plastic gears that drive the counter, as any resistance, will cause the belt to slip. I think the reset button had also been pushed hard, & bent the mechanism slightly, as it had a tight spot, so i adjusted the spindle, & finally lunricated the Counter gears (Not the Spindle & pulley, as its too close to the belt to introduce lubricant). Upon reassembly, The problem seems solved, the unit now plays records Rewinds etc, without any issues.

Its a tiny drive belt, & any resistance in the drive train, (dust / fluff / as tiny grit even) is enough to cause the belt to slip, & stop the counter which in turn stops the tape.

I hope this helps.

Thankyou

Dual tape deck speed

you might get in contact with mcm electronics and buy a product called re-grip...this product rejuvinates the rubber,, i suspect that your problem is not so much a speed problem but one of slippage,,,,dress all belts and rollers with this product, wipe the excess with a as many q-tips as necessary and allow to cure for a few hours, re-assemble and enjoy your unit again,,,,this should solve your problem,,good luck
