Our Canon Faxphone L80 will not fax. I tried putting another phone cord in the (L) part of the machine to fax but still no dial tone or nothing. The phone line works because I put it in the (phone) line on the fax and I get a dial tone. I also put another fax machine to the same phone cord and it worked. I believe the fax has lost its capability to fax. It thinks it is just a phone and not a fax. How do I resolve this or can it be resolved? thanks, Brenda (cell #: is 910-237-5838)

Please shut down the unit and remove all paper. Wait ten seconds turn the fax backon without paper. mAKE SURE THE FAX IS ONLINE. hAVE SOMEONE SEND YOU A FAX SO THE MACHINE DEMANDS THE PAPER. SEE IF THIS WORKS
To send a fax you do not need to enter anything into your fax. You have to make sure that you connect the telephone line to it's desgnated connector. You dial a number to send as if you are calling form a normal phone. If you ever get a ringing tone press start. You can enter any data trough the data registration after you make sure your fax is functioning properly.
