You will have to download the most recent driver. Best solution is to go the the manufacturers site and find the correct driver for your new OS.

I NEED HELP RELOADING MY COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS XP

Ok if you are a complete novice like you say it may be a little hard to explain everything on here. Your heading say you need help loading windows xp. While the body says you need help cleaning it out and reloading it. It has been a while since I loaded windows xp on my computer but it came after losing a hard drive. I seems like I just put in the new hard drive and put the windows installation cd and when I started it, it just went through the steps of installation. However if you have a working computer and you want to clean it up, you may want to save some files off your computer before you just wipe it out. You should make a recovery cd, you can go through help menus to do this just type in "recovery cd". You can format your drive, go to programs, accessories, command prompt. If you open that up it looks like the old dos system, if you type in "format c:\" then enter it will wipe everything off of your hard drive. So my suggestion is this: find a friend/ neighbor that is a little computer savvy and ask for some help. It may be as simple as deleting your temporary internet files and cookies to get you running faster, which I think is what you are really after. Now that I've written a book I hope this helps. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

may be your xp operating system is corrupted or the wireless device is not functioning properly. first check your wireless device with another computer of your friend. if that works fine there be sure it is yous operating system problem. find a fresh copy of windows xp. and format your computer. after formatting i m sure it will work fine. for the good performance by your computer always defragment drives. also try installing the the third party softwares other than c: drive. this will make your windows work smoothly. thanks.

Just installed xp for a friend on an old ibm netvista 6794 NZU pc. Went to ibm website but can not find the motherboard or chipset drivers to allow this pc to acess the internet. Can anyone help please. ...

It's a big pain when you dont have the right driver. but try this:

1. download and install the Windows Service Pack 3 (XP SP 3) in the computer and check if it works.

and how are you trying to connect to the internet? you might just want to put in an extra PCI network card, if you want to use the broadband or if you need the usb ports to work, try a PCI USB card instead.

either ways, make sure you have installed SP3 in that computer.

cheers!

I have a Toshiba A45-S121 laptop. I upgraded my hard drive from a 40GB hard drive to a 320GB Western Digital. Loaded Windows XP and formated drive in FPTS format. The computer rebooted to the hard drive...

Best possible solution put back your 40GB and try to get an external casing for your 320GB to see if it works. And try windows on NTFS instead of FPTS, so reformat your 320GB and install the Windows XP again.
I hope this solution is helpful.

Space on device.

If this problem occurs then your ML648B needs to be formatted.

1. Connect your ML648B to your computer with Windows XP or later.
2. By default your computer will recognize ML648B as GPX MTP Device. Press the POWER button from top of your ML648B, to change it to USB mode connection. You will also see USB on the screen of ML648B.
3. ML648B will now mount 2 drives, one as Tools (as CD-Drive) and second as Removable Disk (Drive) – under My Computer on your Windows Desktop.
4. Right click your mouse and then select the Format option. When the Format Removable Disk window appears select the Start button to start formatting your MP3 player.

Hi, I have an IBM R51 Type 2887 Thinkpad that came with Windows XP Home edition. I formatted the laptop and put the Windows XP Professional in it. However, it could not install few key drivers (Eg. CD ROM,...

You need to access a computer that is connected to the Internet, (try going to a friend or work mate or nternet cafe etc.)

Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP audio driver for your model laptop,
www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-39956.html

Copy the downloaded files and install them on your computer.

How to remove windows vistra from a acer extensa 5220 and replace with windows xp

HAVE A VALID REGISTRATION KEY for WINDOWS — Microsoft will not let you upgrade your operating system with necessary patches until you VALIDATE your copy of Windows XP - by phone or online. If you try to update or format your system with a shared or borrowed copy of Windows XP, your result may be a crippled or non-working copy of Windows XP on your computer. You’ll need that 20 character number from your Windows Certificate of Authenticity. A certificate of Authenticity looks like the image below:
coa.jpg TO BEGIN:
1 ) Put the installation CD of XP or Windows 2000 into the CD drive and start the computer. Your computer should display “Press a key to start from CD”. You must boot from the CD because you’ll need to format the C: drive partition where Windows is installed on the hard drive.
If your computer is displaying a blue screen with white text, then you can proceed to step #2.
Your computer’s “Boot Order” tells the computer which device to check first when starting the computer. If your computer did not boot from the CD, you’ll need to power on your computer and press either the F2 or F10 or Del key — depending on your computer — to display your computer’s BIOS menu. In the Bios Menu, find the menu that allows you to change the “boot order” and make a change so that the computer will boot from the CD first, instead of the hard drive.
2 ) A blue screen with white text will be displayed. Press F8 to accept the Windows XP Licensing Agreement. The Windows XP Setup program will search for existing Windows installations and “repair or install fresh copy” will appear if a Windows installation currently exists on your machine. Press [Esc] (don’t repair).
3 ) A list of your computer’s disc partitions will be displayed. Press the UP or DOWN arrow keys to choose your main install partition. Note that your system partition must be a primary partition (usually the first partition that appears in the list), not a logical partition.
4 ) Once you have selected your main partition, press ENTER. “You already have a system installed” will be displayed if you already have Windows installed on this partition.
5 ) Press C to continue. From the options displayed, select “Format the partition using the NTFS file system” then press Enter. Windows XP can also run on FAT32, but the NTFS file system is recommended because it is more stable. You will receive a warning about formatting the drive unless the drive is brand-new -Press “F” to confirm you know that you will be formatting the drive. The disc formatting may take a while depending on the capacity of your hard drive.
6 ) The Windows XP install should begin automatically after the formatting is complete. If not, restart the computer with the Windows XP CD in the drive and follow the instructions for installing Windows XP. This can take 35 minutes or more depending on the speed of your computer.
7 ) Once Windows XP has been installed, connect the computer to the Internet, start the Internet Explorer browser, and visit http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate to download and install the latest security patches and updates for your operating system. This could take up to an hour depending on the age and version of your freshly installed copy of Windows XP. When I did this last week, there were 79 security patches for the version of Windows XP that I installed.
8 ) Install the sound, video, modem, and other drivers that are specific to your computer and your operating system — as mentioned in the very first step. Follow the instructions as provided by your computer manufacturer. You may be told to restart your computer between installing some drivers according to your manufacturer’s directions.
9 ) Restart your computer, then select “Start > Help and Support” Click any update links you see to install the latest patches and drivers from Microsoft and from your computer manufacturer.
That’s it. Good luck!
