First you want to make sure you have the most recent audio driver for your pc, if that doesn't work speakers are probably blown.

Looking for a good plug and play cpu to upgrade from the sempron in the emachine t3616

Memory is RAM, not storage space like the hard drive.

The fastest CPU that fits socket S1 is the TL-68, but I wouldn't put it in your emachine because of heat and power consumption. Maybe give a TL-60 a try? They are only $5 on eBay.

Emachine t3616 reset cmos

The eMachines T3616 Desktop PC, is supposed to use the
Winfast MCP61PM2MA motherboard.

If this holds to be true, so does the Gateway GT5476E Desktop PC,

Click on Components,

Scroll down to the - Motherboards - heading

Click on -
4006200R - MCP61PM2MA AM2 uATX Motherboard - in blue.

In the list click on - Product Views

In the list click on -> P - Clear CMOS jumper

Took you the 'long way', so you can see all the other connections on the motherboard, too.

Wires come unplugged in the future, you have info now to hook them back up.

Start up can anyone help?

when you unplug your desktop without using the normal chut down procedure, the date of your windows OS are destroyed.
In your case, the situation is same.
What you can do:
1. plug your desktop and while it is turning on press and hold F11 this will restore your software. If it doesn't work , reinstall the windows OS, if it doesn't work, replace the hard drive and install the OS software.

I have an eMachines T3616 with Vista on it and want to change to XP-Pro. Vista is just too darn slow. The problem is the drivers. Any ideas? TYIA, Russ

i think the only problem you encounter is about the sound driver. Because the other driver is plug and play for the other devices.
Open the link below and download the realtek audio driver.
Good luck....
