Question about Lasko 3520 20-Inch Cyclone Fan

1 Answer

After about 2 months, fan wouldn't start. Left it alone over the winter...but tried it on occasion...thinking that perhaps by pressing the buttons to get it started, I had 'jammed' the messages to the fan... Just tried it again after replugging in.... will not turn on

All fans have a thermal fuse built into the motor. If the fan was running slow from dry bearings the motor will overheat and pop the fuse. Just about 100% of fans die this way.

Intermittent Start (expanded explanation)

Lint will jam the start/run switch on the motor. Vacuum out the motor real good and check that the switch moves freely, and all the wires to it are plugged in good.

Due to the age of your vehicle, the brushes in the fan motor are worn out. you will have to replace the fan motor, it is not serviceable.

Kymco midi foru, less than 6 months old batteries will not charge.

This will be due to the batteries being left uncharged for a long period of time. Should ideally be charged once a fortnight for at least 12 hours if the scooter is not used for any period of time. Unfortunately, the only real solution is new batteries.

Try running the temp warmer in the freezer, Winter months the house temp. setting lower at night. Saving energy you can safely say leave the house temp alone. Sooooo You can leave the door light on for some heat. You can thaw it on those occasions by putting a space heater in front of the door. Or I believe they have a fix kit for hundreds of dollars installed.

The problem is with the mother board, there is a short near the fan. The machine is on its last legs.
