More than likely if it was struck by lightning, the circuit board is fried.

Bypass a faulty timer unit on a stoves 720ef cooker. . . . My partner tried this today on my cooker and now there is no power to the cooker at all!! Is there a chance he's managed to do the wr

I would suggest the wrong wires were cut off and joined. If the ground wire touches the power wire a fuse or circuit breaker will blow.. Before you do anything more make sure the curcuit breaker is not blown. If it is reset it and turn the cooker back on. If the breaker blows again then it is wired wrong.

Kenmore model 970-506021 no power to burners or oven but display works

Did you reset the house circuit breaker to the oven. If the stove is only getting 120 volts instead of 240 the display will light but no heat. A remote possiblity could be a burned wire at the power connector where the main powewr comes in to the stove of a bad comnnection in the junction box.

Stove oven not working properly

Could be any of a number of things, or combination of them.
1. Power? If the oven is electric, does the light work? If not, might need to flip breakers at the panel.
2. Thermostat is shot. Also the sensor bulb may be broken or defective inside the oven.
3. Element burned out. This is quite common. If you can cut the power to the oven, and remove the element and test for continuity with a meter, that would tell you if it needs replacing.

The whole range quit working -

First thing check your breaker. if the breaker is good then unplug the stove and remove the back cover and check the power cord connection where it first connects. Check for any loose connections there. Also if your main power cord is plugged in behind the stove you could check the box for loose connections. Be sure to turn the breaker off first. If you are not sure about handling the electrical outlet then I would call someone who is.

All the lights, display, etc. work on the oven but no heat

First and foremost check the breaker box. Ovens use 240 volts which is a double breaker in the box. Just to be safe I would click both breakers off and then back on together. If this doesnt work turn off the power and have someone help you pull the oven out and check your plug or connection. You may be dealing with a broken wire in the junction box due to the power outage. If you have a volt meter turn the power on SAFETLY and test if your getting 240 volts. If the connections are good (including the one from the juction box to the stove itself) and you are getting proper votage, unfortunatley you are going to have to get a new control. What happens is with only 120 volts going to the oven everything runs but your elements (they utilize the 240 volts to heat). You can tell time or use the timer but without your full 240 your turkey aint gonna cook. There is 120 volts coming coming from each of those breakers you checked in the garage. Bottom line is the chances of both elements going out at the same time are slim to none and I feel you are probably dealing with a broken wire.

My hotpoint oven display is reading f1 and won't stop beeping.

F1 meand there was a power failure, you need to unplug the stove wait 5 minutes, and plug back up this should reset the stove. If its still do not work, the breaker in the breaker box is still trip, you need to move the breaker to the off postion and then back to the on postion this will turn that outlet back on
