What I do with my router is simply unplug it from the power source for approx: 25 seconds then plug it back in and restart the computer. Then I hit the reset button on the back of the router quickly so that it boots again this will bring it back to default state. Then I log in using admin as the username and go to the router page. Then simply do my configurations as I want them to be from there. Thanks for using FixYa! John

How to reset, when my android zeepad won't work by holding start and volume same time, nor does the reset button do it

Many people say to push and hold down the Volume(+) and Power button at the same time. Push and hold for as long as twenty seconds until you see a green android with green text.

But, on some devices and some Android O/S versions it takes pushing and holding the Volume(-) and Power button and holding them both down for twenty seconds or so or until you see the green Android and text screen. This will show the Wipe Data/Factory reset option. Select this option by scrolling using the Volume(+) button and engage using the power button. Some devices give you a second screen with a list of *no no no no no* and one line of Factory Reset. Again, scroll to the Reset option using the Volume(+) option and select it using the power button.

If the above doesn't work, either your battery is dead or your device is dead.

Cant open the admin console on mt dwl-3200ap

Try this. Push and hold in the rest button while at the same time pull out the powers supply line from the unit. Release the reset and wait 30 seconds. Push in and hold in the reset button, apply power to the unit and keep holding the rest button in for 30 seconds, then let the reset go. It should reset everything back to factory settings and hopefully let you in with the original admin pw when you bought it.

Home fuse box breaker issue

Hi Rex,

It sounds as if the upstairs bathroom outlet and the outdoor outlet are on the same circuit. There's a very good chance that these are GFI or "ground fault interrupter" type outlets, as these locations (and others) have required this type of protection for over 30 years. It was a common practice to run a circuit from the panel to one of these locations (or another) and then run from here to the next outlet and then on to the next. Since the GFI outlet could be purchased for around $10 instead of $30 for a GFI breaker, electricians would install outlets instead - both offered the same protection. A "regular" breaker would supply power to this circuit - but the very first outlet would get a GFI type outlet. It would be wired to the LINE terminals and the cable that feeds the rest of the outlets on this circuit would be connected to the LOAD terminals. If there was a ground fault condition, this GFI outlet would trip, but the circuit breaker would remain on. You would locate and RESET the tripped GFI outlet to restore power. The only time the circuit breaker would trip is if the circuit was overloaded. Overloads would NOT cause the GFI outlet to trip.

Now that you understand how it was typically wired years ago (and still a lot of times today), you should check all the outlets outside your home, in bathrooms, basements, garages, and inside your home next to doorways that lead directly to grade of your lawn or deck. These are required places for GFI protection. Press the RESET on any tripped GFI outlet to restore power. If the outlet will not RESET, there is a condition where the hot wire (black, red or blue insulated wire) is in contact with ground, or a device or appliance connected to the circuit has a problem. Unplug anything connected to the circuit and attempt to RESET again. If still unable to reset, open the outdoor outlet again and carefully pull it out and away from the box. Inspected for damaged or crushed insulation and repair / tape as needed. Before reinstalling, try to reset again. If it holds, trip the GFI by pressing TEST button. The RESET button should pop out. Reinstall the outlet and make sure the wires are not crushed or cut. Press the RESET button again. If it trips, you will have to remove the outlet again and take more precautions against damage to the insulation. it is also possible that the GFI outlet itself has failed, in which case it should be replaced.

GFI circuit breakers and outlets are supposed to be tested monthly by simply pressing the TEST button and then the RESET button. Replace any GFI device that does not test correctly if wiring and devices / appliances connected are OK.

I hope this helps & good luck! Please rate my reply - thanks.

Had 1/2 of the outlet on breaker go off over night unable to reset and get ele to about 5 outlets

When circuit breaker trips, all the outlets and devices on it shut off, so I'm not sure what it is that you are unable to reset if only 1/2 of these devices are off. I suspect a GFI outlet has tripped, not the AFCI circuit breaker.

Make sure that there isn't a tripped GFI outlet somewhere. Look at all the outlets for a RESET button that has popped out. These outlets usually have two buttons: TEST and RESET. Press the RESET button firmly in on any outlet found with this button. These devices will only protect downstream outlets, so it is possible for part of the circuit to work and the rest not - due to the tripped GFI. If you can't reset a GFI, simply replace it and carefully replace the wires exactly as the original. Pay attention to the wires at the LINE and LOAD terminals.

An arc fault breaker that will not reset has either failed and will need to be replaced, or has detected a condition in the wiring, outlets and connected devices or appliances that prevents it from being reset.

Disconnect all devices that are plugged into all the affected outlets and attempt to reset. If a reset is possible, turn back to off and plug one device in and reset again. If a reset is possible, turn back off and remove the device plugged in and plug in a different device. Continue in this manner until all the devices have been checked. A device that prevents a reset or causes a trip should be professionally serviced before reintroducing to the circuit.

If unable to reset, there is a problem with the breaker, outlets or the wiring. You should check each outlet and make sure the wire connections are made up tight. A loose connection will be detected by arc fault breakers and trip. If your outlets are connected by wires inserted into holes on the back of the outlet, remove or cut them close to the outlet and connect to the terminals screws instead one at a time to prevent "mixing up which wire goes where".

If it still won't reset, check to see if there are any light fixtures that do not work. You'll probably have to check the connections for those, too.

If none of these steps solves your problem you'll probably have to call an electrician to make repairs to wiring.

I hope this helps & good luck! Please rate my reply "4 thumbs up" if you found it helpful - thanks.

Switching from phone line to cable and no connection

If you meant switching from DSL to CABLE, I would suggest just giving your router a reset. Here are the procedures for your particular router:
Reset Procedure
Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.

Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.

Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.

Step 4 Release the Reset button.

Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.

make sure to setup your wireless security again and make sure to set an admin password on your router after the restart.
