You should order a replacement to ensure the software is complete and unaltered. It is still illegal to take the software from a website even with a valid, purchased product key.

I dont have the 20 digit product id..can I still install microsoft office 97 small business edition

Unfortunately not; You can, however, call microsoft and if you have the actual disc handy, they will often times give you a new key if you describe an authentic disc to them over the phone. I've had to do it plenty of times in the past... I lose product IDs all the time :)

If you've just done a system restore then MS Office should still be on the system. Click on the the link and download Keyfinder (the program will download straight away) Run the program and on the left of the window you will see MS Office, click on that and it should show you the product key. Youcan either save it as a test file or write it down. Link below >>>>>>

I have microsoft office97 with a 11 digit key code my computer want a 25 digit code?

Follow the steps below to locate your Microsoft Office 97 product key code.
Difficulty: Easy Time Required: Finding your Microsoft Office 97 product key usually takes less than 15 minutes Here's How:
  1. Manually locating the Microsoft Office 97 product key from the registry is nearly impossible due to the fact that it's encrypted. Luckily, a number of free programs exist to help find product keys.
  2. Choose a free product key finder program that supports Microsoft Office 97.
Note: Any product key finder that locates Microsoft Office 97 product keys will locate the product keys for any edition you may have including Microsoft Office 97 Professional, Small Business (Versions 1 and 2), and Standard.
  3. Download and run the key finder program. Follow any instructions provided by the software.
  4. The numbers and letters displayed by the program represent the Microsoft Office 97 product key. The product key should be formatted like xxx-xxxxxxx - one set of three numbers and one set of seven numbers.
  5. Write this key code down exactly as the key finder program displays it to you for use when reinstalling Microsoft Office 97.
Note: If even one number is written down incorrectly, the installation of Microsoft Office 97 that you attempt with this product key will fail. Be sure to transcribe the product key exactly like its shown in the key finder program.

Can't activate MSoffice small bus 2007 with current product key.

Hi Lisa,

If you only used the MS Office Small Business product key once then i'm pretty sure that you can use it 2 more time before Microsoft determines that that its been used too many times. This means you shouldn't have to buy another product key from Microsoft.

First of all you need to uninstall MS Office Home and Student first. Don't try using the other product key that came with the setup disks because it won't work. Or the product key with the laptop because that is for the operating system.

To unistall Home and student go to the Control Panel and select unistall a program as i expect the operating system is Windows 7 seeing as its a new laptop. If its Vista then its under Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Look for all instances of MS Office and uninstall them if there are more than one. This is because if you have installed MS Small business as well as having MS H&S there could be a conflict.
When your done unistalling Office H&S or/and Small Business restart your laptop and get your setup disks for Small Business and install it. It should accept the product key that came with that and let you activate it.

If it doesn't then you need to give Microsoft a call and explain to them you had it installed on a computer that crashed and the key had been used only once. They should then provide you with an activation code or key.

Good luck and if there is anything else please post back.

Problem w/ windows 2003 office

You should always use add/remove inside of control panel to uninstall programs like office 2003 go there verify you have uninstalled it properly highlight office 2003 click remove. just to be sure its a clean uninstall. Restart the computer. Now that service pack for 2003 will only be useful if a clean copy of office is reinstalled. The service pack goes hand in hand with the office 2003 you need that in order to apply the service pack 2. It murkied the system when you deleted office manually to the recycle bin. Always use add\remove or the unistall feature within the program itself which sometimes can be found in All Programs this is only with some programs but not office 2003.

MS Office repair:
Go to the "Add and Remove Programs" in your Control panel. Do a "Change" and do the 'repair program' utility.
That should fix it, good as new.
Be sure to have your INSTALL disk handy (for all Microsoft products).
