The full guide can be viewed at Microsoft's site to install / uninstall Internet Explorer 9 (eg use IE8):

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/how-do-i-install-or-uninstall-internet-explorer-9

I've pasted the relevant portion for your convenience:

To uninstall Internet Explorer

The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

  1. Click the Start button remove IE9 - 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.

  2. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

  3. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

  4. Click one of the following:

    • Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).

    • Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).

Note

After you uninstall Internet Explorer 9, the previously installed version ofInternet Explorer will be available on your computer. It is not necessary to reinstall.

Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks!

Easier said than done as all versions of Internet Explorer are an intrinsic part of the Windows operating system and version nine is no exception. When my MD decided to download and install this horrible browser the only way I could get rid of it after he bitterly complained about the application was to roll back his Windows 7 laptop by using a system restore point which thankfully had automatically been created as part of the installation process.

In my humble opinion, Firefox and Chrome are far superior products and don't seem to suffer from the myriad of security flaws that every version of MS IE comes pre-bundled with.

check your security settings on options if all is ok use the recommended settings if all else fails just remove and re install IE.you can try another solution install another browser like safari or chrome and check if the fault occurs with these programs, but i suggest a new install of IE will do the trick.

Ie9 unstable

if you have system restore enabled you can restore the system to a point before you installed ie9. It then should be removed. (for info: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore)

If restoring is not an option you can try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737/en

kind regards,

Internet explorer 9 runtime error

Hello,

Unfortunally, your system is not compatable with IE9. I would revert back to IE8, run any updates, less IE9 upgrade, and restart your system.

If your system is not validated as a Window 7 or 64-bit system you will have issues with IE9.

Good Luck.

Cannot remove i.e.9 from p.c

IE9 is still at the beta stage and is un reliable.
you may get away with typing restore in the search box from Start and going back in time to before IE9 was installed, if it was not more than a few days ago otherwise, grab your restore disc and restore your system.
Hpe that helps.
