Question about Sony SLV-SE830 VHS VCR
If you tv has more than one SCART connector.. ensure you have the cable plugged into the proper one.
Not sure what the problem is.. if you have a modern bidirecitonal SCART cable properly connected.. you should be able to view and hear the tape as it plays.. assuming the machine is in good condition.
Of course if you want to record a program other than the one you are watching you will ned to supply an independent broadcast signal to the VCR.. and yes you may have to program the tuner on the VCR if you want to record.
However if you simply wish to view tapes.. you shoud be set to use the machine as connected.
