S2 light blinks (Transmission) and engine light comes on.

After a couple of mins. of driving these lights come on. The S2 light blinks and the engine light comes on at the same time. There does not seem to be any problem with the performance of the engine or the tramsmission. My machanic believes it is a faulty "speed signal/senser amplifier" located within the speedometer head. The problem is the part can not be found (if this is the problem). Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone know where I might find this part or where I may find another Speedometer Head.

My windstar2003 o/d light is blinking and trans will shift to 3rd and gets stuck ill have to kill it for a few mins to get it to back to first so i can drive it

OD light blinking means there is a transmission problem and a DTC -diagnostic trouble code is stored in the TCM- transmission control module or the PCM - engine computer ,which ever controls the trans electronic's . Probably a bad shift solenoid . Have it checked for codes .

My 2001 catera shuts off randomly even on high way speed and when that happense the "s" light starts blinking

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

Od light flashing 2003 ford explorer

You need to have the transmission scanned for fault codes, the light blblinks only when the transmission control module detects a fault, in this model it is usually the result of the computer seeing excessive slippage, you may not fell it but sooner or later it may fail completely. Before deciding whether the ****** is defective have the system scanned by a ****** repair shop for the blinking light.

It started with pulling 4 wheel drive lever to engage 4 wheel drive. It would take couple of seconds to engage. Finally engage light would appear showing engage. The light would blink a few times before...

Check the linkage under the vehicle that goes from your shift lever to a rod that then goes to the transmission lever. Sometimes a coupling will come loose. Simple return it to its' original position and re-tighten. Let me know if this helps. Thanks.

Over drive light on shifter blinks and check engine light is lit.

You need to have it scanned for codes. The flashing overdrive light means it has trouble codes that pertain to the transmission.
