Unfortunately this problem could be down to a number of different issues, some simple and others more complex such as an overheating CPU, a corrupted sector on the hard drive, an intermittent problem with the power supply etc. Tricky one to tell really, is it still within the manufacturer's warranty period as it might be worth getting an engineer to examine it? Does it randomly switch off if you perform a CHKDSK on the hard drive or boot up into safe mode and run a disc defrag. Good luck, hope you get it fixed and it's something easy and cheap.
