A possible solution is to use another pc/laptop that has a working broadband connection in order to download the correct driver from the manufacturer's website and then transfer the driver executable or zip file via USB drive back to your pc.

My computer wont reconize my monitor?

Hello there ,
I am presuming you have a PC with Windows xp or 7 and have just connected a 'different' monitor. If not, then I misuderstood your question.
Normally, the default Windows Display Drivers are fine and you can change resolution etc.
1) If what you are saying is that when you plug in and leave plugged in, the monitor you have NO display, then do the following.. Go to Control Panel, then system then device manager, Find the 'Display adapter' highlight it left click then right click, UNINSTALL. Do the same for anything in device manager for any 'monitors'. RESTART the PC and windows should find the correct display adapter and monitor installed to your machine, Whatever happens you WILL see something on the monitor if it is working. If not, then your monitor is kaput.(broken).
2) If what you are saying is that the monitor IS showing displays and that windows doesn't 'recognise' your specific Monitor. Then you must go to the Monitor Manufacturers website Go to 'support' for your Model of Monitor and find the correct Driver for your monitor and version of Windows. Download it and install and you should be fine.
Sorry it souds long winded but this should help you sort it out.

Windows 7 only recognizes my dell 1905fp monitor

You need to remove the standard windows monitor driver in the device manager and reinstall the monitor driver. Search in google and download the driver and install it.
Good hunting.

Looking for windows 7 driver for SDM-HS95P monitor tq

(If this does not explain enough for your issue, please take a few minutes to clarify the specific problem regarding this specific monitor style and Windows 7).

Being that this is an older style monitor, drivers may not be available for a newer operating system, (such as Windows 7). Here is the link to the sony drivers download page:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=SDMHS95P

The newest supported operating system is Windows XP.
The generic monitor driver for windows 7 should pick up this monitor without any need for specific driver installation. Just try plugging it in and it should register automatically.

Windows 7 compatibility

This monitor should be compatible with Windows 7. Just plug the monitor to your computer and let Windows automaticaly install the driver for it. No need to install the driver from the cd that came with the monitor.

Update your graphics card drivers to the newest ones available. That is typically caused by having the default windows driver for your graphics card. If it is a Nvidia gpu get the drivers from them, itf its an ATI/AMD get them from AMD Game. If it is neither of those Intel does some graphic cards, if its not an Intel one go to the computer manufacturers website and find your model to get drivers for it.

I have a dell Optiplex gx260. I bought a nice big Acer 23"monitor 1920x1030 but the max resolution in the graphics properties is 1280x1024 so I get a stretched screen or a poor resolution

jenny_beech

The resolution 1920x1030 is not a standard resolution. Also at the time this computer came out you did not have monitors this big ether. So you most likely will not be able to get 1920x1030 on this computer. However if you install the drivers for the monitor on the computer you should atleast get the right aspect ratio so you have poor resolution. You should have a CD with the drivers on in it. The llink below will show you haw to install them maually in Windows 7 if the drivers are not in an installer. Let me know if you need the steps for Windows XP.

Try the above link for Vista or XP drivers which may be used with Windows 7 in some cases.

The va1912wb came up when I searched under 1912.

This driver is available directly from the viewsonic.com site.

Uninstall the other driver if possible.
