This page came up on a Google search and it has the diagram about midway down the page. You can also see a phone number for Gibson, and if it's still good maybe they can tell you if the switch is available.

Wiring change from Fender

Standard J-Bass wiring is parallel. Not series.

To run the pickups in series, the ground of one pickup would feed into the hot of the next. That's not what comes from the factory.

I'm looking for a wiring diagram to replace a jack socket for a peavey void 4 bass

If it is the socket on the bass, it should only be 2 wires, on the 2 ears of the socket. He must have soldered it to the wrong place. The wire from the pickup switch(if more than 1) or the volume(if only 1) should go to the part of the socket that touches the tip on the guitar cord when plugged in. The other is ground and connects to the backs of controls and switches throughout the instrument, even to the bridge and tailpiece.

My bass makes no sound.

check the jack wiring, or the battery clip integrity- sometimes the clip wires break but they look fine.

My double pick up Dean edge quit working while playing. I checked the wiring and all looks good, but three is s a black wire coming from hole to center of body attached to nothing. Looks like it never was....

Make sure you have two wires soldered to the output jack on the bass. having a wire lose is not purposely put like that, for no sound from the bass then that wire is either from the pickups and connects to the pots on the bass or on the output jack. I would suggest taking it to an authorized dean dealer to inspect the wiring.

I have a Thinline pickup in my 1924 0-28, because unfortunately nothing else is slim enough to do the job. I took it out of the guitar years ago after it failed onstage, and now I've decided to give it...

Probably the ground wire is broken on this either at the jack or very near the end of th pickup stick. This acts like a condenser microphone and is fairly high impedance so any break in the ground will pickup hum. Using a high impedance guitar cable is necessary.

Peavey cirrus pickups

VIsit Peavey's website at contact their customer support and you can order a wiring diagram on how these pickups should be wired. I've always been able to get any diagram I've needed for any of their products, some times you have to pay for them but sometimes they can be downloaded for free.
