That solution was accurate when posted (April 2011). But since then, Yahoo has removed the option to revert to Classic Mail format.

I prefer the "Classic" format of Yahoo! Mail as well.

You can switch between the two Yahoo formats whenever you like. To change from the new format back to classic, go to "Options" (near upper right corner), click on the small arrow to pull down the menu, then select "Mail Classic".
now Iam using Yahoomail Beta, - novaweb_21.gif

To change from classic to the new format, click on "All-new Mail" in the upper left corner.

I want to return to my old yahoo mail not beta I dont like it at all if i can not get it retured back i will change from yahoo

After switching to beta Yahoo wouldn't allow you to return to the classic version of yahoomail. However there is a way to get through this. Turn off the Javascript of your browser. ___________________________________

In case you dont know how to turn the javascript off:
Internet Explorer: tools > internet options > security. In security click "custom level" > disable Active Scripting in the scripting section.

Firefox: tools > options > content > click on "disable Javascript".

Google Chrome: Wrench button (on the upper right of the browser) > options > Under the Hood > Content Settings button > select "Do not allow any site to run JavaScript" in the Javascript section.
___________________________________

After disabling your javascript try to reload the page of your yahoomail. Then You will be asked to enable javascript or switch back to an older version of yahoomail (located at the lower part). Of course click the option that says return to an older version of yahoomail which is the last option. After that you will be brought back to your yahoomail classic view.
After doing this, DO NOT FORGET TO TURN YOUR JAVASCRIPT ON since there are functions in yahoomail that required javascript.

Yahoo has removed all the options to switch back to the classic mail. They are encouraging people to switch over to the new mail.

I tried the beta too but I switched back to Yahoo! Classic. Here is how I did it:

Login to your yahoo! mail account.

Click "help" on the upper left of the screen.

Then Choose "Leave the main preview"

It will ask you for a feedback, but you can just choose "other" and click continue.

Thanks for using Fixya! Don't forget to rate. =)

Changing my name

If I am right, what you want to do is change your middle name in your yahoo account...right? If that's the situation, what you have to do is sign in your yahoomail account, click your yahoo ID located in the upper right of your browser right beside the "signout" link (u can find it there if you are using yahoomail classic), don't click signout...

(
Note: If you are using yahoomail beta, click the
"
My Account" link at the top left of your browser)

then click the "edit" link beside the Address/Contact, and edit the middle name you want to change inside the middle name text box and lastly, click the "Finish" button located on the top right or bottom right of your browser, either of the two will do.

Now your maiden name is changed, try sending message and see if it has really changed...thank you! Notify me if it didn't work....If this solution works for you, please give a rate, thank you again!
