The Cross Over Tube goes on the left side of the interior of the grill (as you are facing the control panel., attaching it just above the center burner. So that when the center burner ignites, it lights the Cross Over Tube.. To assist you more, I have included a link to the Owners Manual/Assembly Manual for your model grill. It does not go into a lot of details, but from the drawings and the Maintenance Guide, you can see where it goes.

Hope this helps to get your grill back up and grilling. Please let me know. Thanks!

One carburetor is fed by the other carburetor. There is probably some blockage in the crossover pipe between the carburetors. You will probably have to take the carburetor rack off and split the carburetors apart to get proper access to the crossover tube, unless you can figure out how to clean out the crossover with out separation. You will need to replace the crossover pipe o-rings if you split the rack. They are only available in expensive Honda carburetor gasket kits. You may be able to purchase the o-rings separately out of a K&L Supply carburetor o-ring kit if your local dealer has one. Other wise an auto store may be able to match up the fuel proof o-rings.

Hello vocalviixen,

The pipe that you referred to is the exhaust crossover pipe. Below I've included removal and installation instructions.

Also, the procedure for bleeding the coolant system is critical; if you need those instructions please post the question.

1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.
2. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct.
3. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
4. Remove the inlet radiator hose from the engine.
5. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe.
6. Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield bolts.
7. Remove the exhaust crossover heat shield.
8. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe studs/nuts.
9. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.
1. Install the exhaust crossover pipe.
2. Install the exhaust crossover pipe studs/nuts.
3. Tighten the exhaust crossover pipe studs/nuts to 18 lb ft.
4. Install the exhaust crossover heat shield.
5. Install the exhaust crossover heat shield bolts.
6. Tighten the exhaust crossover heat shield bolts to 89 lb in.
7. Install the thermostat bypass pipe.
8. Install the inlet radiator hose to the engine.
9. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant.
10. Install the throttle body air inlet duct.
11. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.

I Have a 87 corvette that drops fuel pressure if left unstarted for more than a day or two.

Fuel Pressure Regulator REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 5.7L (VIN 8) Engine NOTE: The pressure regulator and base are factory adjusted and serviced as a complete assembly only. Do not try to remove the regulator cover. 1985-88 VEHICLES
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove the fuel rail from the vehicle, as outlined earlier in this section.
  4. Remove the front crossover tube retaining attaching screw and crossover tube retainer from the right hand rail side.
  5. Unfasten the retainer-to-base screw assembly and rear crossover tube retaining from the pressure regulator and base assembly.
  6. Separate the left hand fuel rail and plug assembly from the right hand fuel rail and plug assembly.
  7. Remove the bracket-to-rail attaching screw, 2 bracket-to-base screws and the regulator and base bracket.
  8. Unfasten the screw that attaches the fuel outlet tube to the right hand rail.
  9. Remove the base-to-right hand rail assembly. Fig. 1: Typical fuel pressure regulator assembly - 5.7L (VIN 8) engine 91035g26.gif

  10. Twist the regulator and base assembly to the remove it from the fuel outlet tube.
  11. Unplug the base-to-rail connector.
  12. Remove and discard the O-ring seals from the following components, noting the location and sizes of the O-rings to ensure proper placement during installation:
    • Connector
    • Fuel outlet tube
    • Rear crossover tube
    • Front crossover tube
  13. Check the O-rings and sealing surfaces for damage that may prevent proper sealing.
  14. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Tighten the retaining screws to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
  15. Connect the negative battery cable, then turn the ignition to the ON position and check for fuel leaks.

Need to change out fork seals...any advice on how to approach this or tricks to look out for?

Your triple clamps are the best vice for your fork tubes. Put your bike on the center stand and lift the front wheel off the ground with a jack. Take off your front wheel and loosen the socket caps in the bottom of the tubes. ( you may want to remove the front fender to work on tubes individually) On some models you have to put a towel on the tank, unbolt the handle bars, and move the bars enough to get them out of the way. Unbolt air crossover tube if equipped. Loosen fork top caps and remove. Place a pan under the forks and remove the socket screws. This will dump the oil and allow you to remove the fork lowers. You may need a seal pry bar to remove seals. Installation is reverse order . Add oil after snugging up socket screws ( tighten after top caps are on). Do not to over fill fork tubes with oil it will damage the fork sliders while you ride. The dealer can tell you the correct amount for your model. Honda dealers have pocket size specification books they get quick check the information.

How do i change a 2004 Lincoln LS fuel pump?

Hi. here's how to change the fuel pump. The actual electric fuel pump is in the tank on the right side. The tank is directly below the rear seat. If you remove the seat bottom you will find a 6 inch or so cover. Under the cover there is a plastic, threaded collar that locks the fuel pump into the tank. The driver's side also has a pump, but it works only my venturi effect from the electric pump on the other side. This pump is used to equalize the fuel level from left to right. The drive shaft tunnel prevents all but the very top of the tank from communicating left to right.

As long as the crossover keeps the frequency going to the tweeters within a safe range (I'd say about 500hz+, read the box or look it up by model number) they should be just fine. That is what the crossover is for.
