SOURCE: Aqua Systems water softener isn't using salt when it regenerates. Water isn't being softened. Have manually regenerated three times -- goes through the cycle but water seems to be unchanged. Any troub

check that the small hose to the pickup in the salt tank is not blocked or loose allowing air into the unit rather than the salt water. IT runs on a venturi effect so any air leaks will not allow the water to be picked up. Download the operating manual for the unit as it has a detailed operation including fault finding and over hauling of the unit.

My Kenmore Ultrasoft 400 water softener tome light will not stop blinking. How do I reset it

It's been 10 years since I worked at EcoWater, but the Kenmore Ultrasoft 400 shouldn't have changed much. The brine tank light shouldn't blink at all. It should light for 4 minutes and then go out if you leave the door open if I remember correctly. How old is your softener and does it have a light bulb or an LED to light up the brine well? It's most likely a damaged control board that's creating your problem. You'll have to contact Sears for a replacement.

(EcoWater Systems LLC is the OEM [Original Equipment Manufacturer] of water softeners for Sears Kenmore, GE, Whirlpool, Morton Salt, EcoWater Systems dealers and a few others.)

Water Softener maintenance tips: By-Pass Valves

There are many types of factory By-Pass valves and 3-Valve By-Passes systems used on residential water treatment equipment. Over the course of years if these valves have not been used they become very hard to turn and may require the use of a wrench to turn them. This can create a big problem if an emergency occurs with the water treatment system and the water needs to be turned off. Using a wrench on any bypass valve has the potential to break it and then it won't work or worse, you have a flood on your hands as water comes gushing out of the valve!
What is the solution? The easiest solution is to turn the by-pass valve on and off several time every time you add salt to the system. By doing this it loosens any debris, keeps the o-rings lubricated an the valve moving freely.
Many systems incorporate by-pass valves with handles that simply turn 90 degrees for on and off. While manufacturers like GE, Sears, Ecowater, Culligan, Northstar, Hague among others incorporate a simple push pull valve to by-pass the system. Other companies by-pass systems may be "hardplumbed" with a 3-Valve by-pass that incorporates an inlet, outlet and center (By-Pass) valve to divert hard water past the treatment system when needed.
Which ever type is used with your system it is best to turn or push these valves ON and OFF several times every time salt is added (generally quarterly) to assure proper operation of the by-pass system to prevent any problems when it is crucial for them to work properly.
Practice these tips and your water treatment system will give you many years of quality water with fewer service issues.
Good Luck and Good Water,
RJ

Aeg 60870 dishwasher water not getting in. Error code.10

The most common cause of a fault "i10" is closed valve on the water supply line. So this failure indicates a problem with filling of water.
Possible error causes:
Closed water tap, Inlet valve faulty, inlet hose bent, softener system clogged, pressure switch or pressure switch hose obstructed or leaking, wiring from pressure switch to printed circuit board (PCB), wiring from inlet valve to PCB and finally PCB.

Unplug system, wait 1 minute, plug back and see if it clears. You may have had a power outage. If so reset settings on control. here is the link to manual.
