Hi,
Technics is or was Panasonic. So that will most likely end up being a Panasonic part. that might help.

Where can I get a new Stylus/Needle for my Technics Turntable. DC Servo Turntable System SL-B280

What you need to do is look at the cartridge the stylus fits in. That will have a make and model number on it. Put that into Google search and the places that stock both will appear!

If you're a real DJ then the Technics is the best TT to scratch on. Don't listen to that fool about not scratching, lol. Your tone arm could be the problem. Have it checked out. I repair TT's

yes, it is very likely the stylus. the stock needle is conical shaped like a ball point pen. You might have a tonearm that is out of alignment but usually it's the needle. It is possible it is just dust on the tip but if it occurrs in consistent areas of the record, then it is likely that the music is just too demanding for the LP2D you will either have to use your old technics which is likely better quality or you could try upgrading the stylus on your LP2D.
If you do a yahoo search for "4-211-DE-GUARD" with the quotes, the 1st result will take you to an elliptical upgrade over the stock needle. The elliptical tip will pull more info out of the grooves and into your computer for further processing.

Technics turntable distortion emisson

More than likely your RCA cables are going bad, and will need to be replaced. Not the hardest self-repair, but you will need to have some soldering skills. In addition, caution should be taken when taking apart your turntable.

Check out the following videos for self-repair assistance on these wonderful DJ turntables.

If you think it's too much for you to do yourself, get some professional assistance. Shouldn't cost too much for repair.

Hope this helps some.
