Cannot connect to computer


not much to go on. which did you set staic IP, inside Printer?, inside Router? or inside PC? is printer using lan cable to Router? is printer using lan cable to PC? is printer using Wifi to Router? is printer using Wifi direct to PC? try giving more information. you should be able to type in printer IP into IE to see its configuration pages/menus.

Problem with hp pavilion g6 wireless

Here are a few additional wireless troubleshooting steps that you can try:

Power cycle the network:

1. Shut down your notebook.
2. Unplug the power to your router.
3. Unplug the power to your modem.
4. Wait at least 45 seconds.
5. Plug in the modem, and wait for it to come back online.
6. Plug in the router, and wait for it to come back online.
7. Turn on your notebook, and test your connection.

Reset the TCP/IP settings:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.

Reset the winsock catalogue:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.

Change power management option for your wireless adapter:

1. Open Device Manager.
2. Expand the Network adapters.
3. Right click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties.
4. Click the Power Management tab.
5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
6. Click OK.
7. Test.

Forget the Network and reconnect (Windows 8):

1. Press Windows Key + C
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Change PC settings.
4. Click Network on the left.
5. Click Manage known networks.
6. Click the network name.
7. Click Forget.
8: Reconnect

Troubleshooting problem


Go to your office, or to your friend house, and try it on another and different network. Also use a cable connection. If not better, you need a service assistance on your network adapters and network software.

I have installed a network card into a pc on a LAN.however the pc fails to connect to the network since no link light appears on the card.what steps would you take to troubleshoot and fix the problem


insert the network card into PCI slot
Install proper drivers
Restart computer
Connect to Network
If this dont work then there is problem with network card purchase a new one

My dell inspiron 1525 has a built in mobile broadband network and will connect with an outside wifi network but won't connect to the internet. It's saying that my modem test failed and my modem hardware...


Have you tried resetting your Wifi adapter, next time you can't connect, try using the network troubleshooter and it will ask a couple basic questions. Usually by the end of troubleshooter it will reset your wireless adapter.

Can you try reset the network card and also reset the modem by pressing into the little hole on it for like 30 seconds? To reset the network adapter card, you can right click on the network connection of your LAN connection and click on diagnose if you are using Windows Vista. Then you will see the reset network adapter card option. Or you can follow the steps on the following link.
