VACUUM WORKS BUT NO STEAM OR SPRAY

  • Anonymous Dec 04, 2008

I have the same problem - it has been a while since I have attempted to use. The body of the appliance gets hot, but I don't believe it is pulling in the water from the reservoir to provide steam or spray. It's way out of warranty - fyi

I had the same problem. I put vinegar in the reservoir for a few days, it worked the tube that takes in the water was clogged.

I''m looking for the cap that holds the water in the reservior, do you know where I can buy one?

I have had 2 of these and it seems they are very prone to the slightest mineral/calcium deposits building up and blocking the flow of the water. In both cases this was caused by using hard water and not emptying and drying after EVERY use. Because the build up can be anywhere, the move for me was to flush the entire system. I mixed white vinegar(not cider) 50/50 with water (one time had to use straight vinegar), filled the tank and let it sit for about 2 hours. Before turning on, I used a paper clip to make sure the nozzles were clear, turned the unit on steam for a minute then kicked it up to spray. One by one the jets popped--sometimes pretty loud, the thing sputtered and then --whoosh. I alternated between steam and spray and ran till empty. Then did it again using bottled water only to flush the vinegar smell.

Hope this helps someone.

Manual at http://ec1.images-amazon.com/media/i3d/01/A/man-migrate/MANUAL000042774.pdf
Step one: unplug. Step two: put unheated, cool water in the water tank. Step three: Leave at least 1/2 inch (1.5 cm) air space. Step four: replace water tank cap (do not over tighten, turn only to the stop. Step five: turbo steam switch is off, plug in to wall. step six: Always use vacuum only first to clean up debris step seven: don't let the collection chamber to get too full. Step eight: Switch turbo steam on and weight 1 to 2 minutes for water to get hot. Step nine: move slide to steam and pass nozzle over stain. step ten: switch to vacuum to **** up moisture.
I suppose you could use vacuum only while the turbo switch is on and you are waiting those 2 minutes for the water to heat up.

This happened to me as well, so I removed the open end of the plastic tube inside the water reservoir, then I injected full strength vinegar into the tube with a syringe and I blew really hard on it with my mouth. At first the vinegar could not be pushed in from the tube to the inside of the unit, but after a while the vinegar did get pushed inside. I left it in for a few minutes, then I suctioned it out (with my mouth, but the tube is clear, so you can stop just before the liquid goes into your mouth!) to ensure free passage of the liquid, then I flushed it out with water. I probably didn't need to suction it out or flush it, but I wanted to make sure the clogs were removed completely. After this little operation I tried the unit again and it worked like a charm!

Well mine, ...I bought this thing for $50 pesos (a dolar is around 12 pesos) at a "sobre ruedas" down in east Tijuana, in Mexico, which is sort of a swap meet. Had NO box and NO instructions with it, and I find myself with the same situation as you fellas, trying to get a solution around here for this thing. Makes the same lil noise as my friend caltfeder s does. It does vacuum, but doesn t steam or spray, at all. If I ever find the solution I promise I ll help ya ll in here (LOL). Hey! and the one who got it outta the box just recently and had it in its box for years, should help us read the manual, I guess.

Steam and spray

the heater may be clogged. You will have to take it aprt, pull the hoses off, using somothing small, clean out the prots that the hoses hook to. After that, blow thru it if you can to see if air comes out. Then after it is put back together, put a mix of vinegar and water in and let it run thru until it works good again. Calicum and such plug up the works and just need to be cleaned out.
