Question about CDA Washing Machines

1 Answer

Hi i recently moved into an apartment which has a CDA CL993 washing machine. It seemed to work fine at the start but now i realise that i have to switch on the functions manually to get the machine do its wash cycle...the thermostat has letters ranging from A to H. A is prewash and then i set it on B and the whole process of washi, rinse and dry is done automatically by the machine and it stops at H. For the past few days i set it on B and then have to turn the thermostat to E manually for the water to drain and then it carries onto rinseing and drying on its own.i have always made sure that the machine has a half load of clothes and so i dont know what the problem is...can you help me?

My nanussi washing machine won't fill with water, when i put in onto a cycle it sounds like water is filling then it clicks off 1min later. Drier seems to working fine.

HI lisa
Have you moved your machine recently ? It sounds like it could be the drain outlet hose that is too low and the water is syphoning away If your machine dose not fill within a preset time it will stop. Is there any error codes or flashing lights. If water is going into the machine and the tub is not filling check that the end of the drain outlet hose is no lower than the centre of the door.

I have recently moved into a new flat. When I tried to connect my washing machine hose to the tap/faucet I realised that the faucet was smaller. How can I connect my washing machine pipe if the faucet is...

tap will be 1/2 or 5/8 bsp you need to know which and get a 3/4bsp to 1/2 or 5/8 reducer. 3/4bsp is standard size now. Or change the taps to standard size. just realized you may not be uk in which case this may not apply . look in your manual for connection size.

Drum is banging on wash cycle.

Hi

I am not too familiar with KitchenAid products as we dont have them in Australia. However most front load washing machines have the same basic set up.

Open the top hatch and also the back panel. Check the suspension springs on top of the drum and also the shock absorbers underneath the drum.

Make sure they are ok and non has come off or broken during the move.

Also make sure that the counter balance bricks or blocks are not brocken or loose.

Good luck.

Our GE washing machine makes a horrible sound during the spin cycle. It is only a couple of years old. Everything seems to be working fine otherwise, just tremendously noisy during this cycle. This just...

you will need to take a look at the clutch which sits on the top of the motor. if it comes apart, and it can if the machine is overloaded, you will need to replace the clutch. once you remove the "clutch clip", it is horseshoe shaped, you will need to replace it. you cannot reuse it as it won't hold. hope this helps you.

Washing machine WMA54 Hotpoint sticks on prewash

I realised that the washer was not filling properly with water!  So I pulled it out from the wall and noticed the cold water fill pipe had been squashed and had a kink in it so not enough water was getting through.  I remedied this by pulling the pipes through the under sink cupboard and securing them with gaffer tape,  Hey presto the machine now works again!  Hooray :D

The fabric softener doesn't go in...

The detergent dispenser is located above the detergent drawer. A water pipe is connected to it and water entrance and distribution to drawer's cells (following the programmed cycle)are done by a lever's movement (part of the dispenser). The lever movement is controlled by two solenoids that received their power from the timer. By opening upper machine's cover you will have an access to the dispenser. Disconnect the power cable from the machine before moving to next test !!!! Look first that they are not any disconnected wires. Move manually dispenser's lever and see if water running to all cells (depend on your movement). In case it doesn't work properly remove the unit from the machine and try to clean it (I hope it will help, otherwise you should replace the unit). In case it works properly (manually) - you should test by a multi-tester solenoid's resistance. the one that doesn't have a resistance measurement should be replaced. Good luck !!
