Sounds as if the trimmer is on but not with full power, is not able to cut hair?

Your clippers probably just need to be cleaned and oiled.

Unplug the clippers, then use a philips screwdriver to take off the clipper plate and reciprocating blade, and then thoroughly clean out all the hair residue from inside. Q-Tips seem to work fine for this job.

Here is one short Youtube video that demonsrates the basic process:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43CpUK2AghA

I just use light mineral oil from the drug store to lubricate mine and it seems to work fine. Normally you are only supposed to use a few drops of oil when you put it back together, but you can really use as much as you like on the blade / plate area, just try not to get any down inside the body of the unit. Then just be sure let it run for 10 seconds or so and then wipe off the excess oil with a paper towel prior to using it next time.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

If you choose to rate this solution using the Thumbs Up scale provided, I thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Joe.

I have an Oster Golden A-5 one speed that I bought 20 yrs ago. I have lost the manual and need to know if I can oil this unit and if so how? Thanks, Lorrietis

Here how you can oil your A-5 clipper, The button on the side of the clipper is the oiler, depress the button down with a small screw driver and while holding the button down, use Oster clipper oil it will take about 4 to 5 drops of oil. after you are finish wipe clean with paper towel and turn on your clipper, let it run for about 2 minutes. Turn your clipper off and you are done. We hope this will help you Thank You. Manny's Sharpening www.mannyssharpening.com

Need advice on how to sharpen Wahl animal clippers

try getting they sharpened but this time when you use them oil between the two blades before during and after use. oil will maintain the useful life of blades.

Wahl Razor will not realign after removing blades for cleaning!

This is always a problem with clippers, it's just a matter of holding the blades tightly in place and getting the screws in as tightly as possible without letting the blades go. This has always worked for me in the past.
