Hi,
if its a desktop sometimes the internal cards will come lose from the tower getting banged around under the desk. open it up, dust it and make sure all your cards coming off the motherboard are seated seated securely. if its a laptop then most likely its a software issue. in either instance the next step may take a while but you will eventually get it. OK get it up to safe mode desktop. now. in the run box type" msconfig" if the run box is missing in your start screen its disabled -right click your taskbar- then properties- then start menu-customize, turn run box back on. get your run box open, type msconfig and then a scary menu will open up. this is where you will be unchecking boxes and restarting the machine untill it submits. begin with the "startup" tab , then move to "services" tab once you get to "services" you can begin unchecking things by three. if you get to where the machine halts and wont start at all restart and start tapping F8 right after the machines speaker BEEPS usually and force a safe mode reboot. eventually you will find what is causing the problem. you might want to check for busted drivers also go start/control panel/system/hardware/device manager. this list in there should be free of yellow exclamations. if there are some thsn you have to get them either removed or updated by further studying of your drivers. jm

look for programs in startup you have recently installed also, you can try restoring back also in start/programs/accessories/system tools. sometimes an old dialup modem/driver will cause networking problems like that. they draw alot of resources. check that your ram cards inside are seated too when your checking your cards .hope that helps..jm

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Can't get computer out of safe mode

From Windows Safe Mode click Start / Shutdown and restart the computer. This should start the computer automatically back into Normal Mode.
Note: Many users believe that they are still in Safe Mode because the colors or video may not look correct. Unless in the corners of the screen it says "Safe Mode", you are not in Safe Mode.
If you are rebooting the computer and it is rebooting back into Safe Mode (it does say "Safe Mode" in each of the corners), it is likely another problem exists with Windows preventing it from loading into Normal Windows.
