Question about Frigidaire 24" Single Gas Wall Oven with Built-In Full-Size Lower Broiler - Black
The issue is either with the igniter or the oven temperature sensor that is bad and should be replaced. Probably, this issue could be due to igniter, you would need to check the continuity at igniter using a multimeter. Please refer the below link for details. Also check the gas valve, it has a bi-metal that open when a certain amount of current flows through it to heat it up. In this case the gas valve may be faulty as you can smell gas leak. Make sure that the glow bar is not cracked. Faulty igniters can allow correct current to flow to the oven gas valve for it to open but not get quite hot enough to ignite the gas burner immediately. Hello, Welcome to FixYa. I have a suspicion of what may be at fault, but first a couple of questions before I attempt to diagnos your oven. 1) when you said in your post "Initially, it was just taking a long time to heat up", was that just on the "bake" setting ? 2) does the oven ever ignite and if not, will it cycle "off" eventually ? 3) finally, does the broil burner appear to work ? The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same.You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.
