TRY A DVD PLAYER TO ISOLATE THE BAD COMPONENT. IF IT WORKS CORRECTLY THEN THE PROBLEM IS IN THE TUNER AUDIO OUTPUT SECTION, IF IT DOES THE SAME THING THE SPEAKERS IN THE UNIT MAY BE DAMAGED. TRY TO USE A VCR TO GET AUDIO OUT AND RUN THE SIGNAL THROUGH A STEREO WITH STEREO INPUTS AND LISTEN TO THE SOUND IN THTAT WAY
