Make sure the new ram was properly seated. If the ram is not all the way in it can cause various issues and even burn out your motherboard.

I was able to find someone else who solved the issue with the method below. Hope this helps.

Clean the original RAM edge connectors with a pencil eraser and pop it in and out a few times to clear oxide off the actual sockets(s). You often get this sort of problem when you disturb RAM.

thank you. i dont think that is the issue either, all metal contact points are clean.

ive taken it out and put it back in at least 6 times.

the computer has 1 gb pre installed and not removable, with an open slot for ddr3. new 2 gb ddr3 fits but then no respone when powered exept lights and fans, no screen.

ive read things about bios updates but my bios are pretty new 2010...

    hardware compatibility??

    msi l1350d

any info or insight about the problem is greatly appreciated.

ok i was offline for a couple day beause i accidently disconnected my keyboard when i took the case apart, and the keyboard shortcut would not work, on usb keyboard, to enable wireless adapter and NOTHING in device manager or ANYWHERE was even detecting adapter. but now.... all that is fixed. and i have had no progress in getting computer to start with additional ram installed. im going to try 1 gb instaed of 2gb in slot 2 and see what happens. thanks for your help and ill let you know what happens.

Hp Compaq dx2200 MT RAM Problems

Firstly, you have to know that you can upgrade RAM as Double or Half of your pre-installed RAM. For example, like your pre-installed RAM is 256 MB, you can only upgrade RAM of capacity 128 MB or 512 MB. Secondly, check your previous installed RAM's speed that is shown in Ghz. You can only upgrade RAM to its similar speed, otherwise you get slow performance of PC.

Laptop screen dont like keyboard slot ram

The NX6310 laptop supports up to 4 Gb of RAM either 533 or 667 MHz DDR SDRAM.
When memory upgrades don't work, the problem could be incapable memory between RAM modules.
Try to use RAM from the same manufacturer, especially the manufacturer of the working RAM.
Use RAM that have the same speed specification.

Trying to upgrade RAM - won't boot after new RAM installed

Install the RAM on memory slot and Switch on your system and go to BIOS settings. There you can check whether your RAM is working properly or not. If it shows no memory installed then the RAM Chip may be damaged.

Acer Aspire 5584WXMI Upgraded Ram

All ram is not created equal.

You should check on the Laptops manufacturer website support pages. They should have a list of know ram manufacturers that have been tested with your laptop.

Check in the manual to see if the ram may have to be installed in pairs.

Also, be sure the new ram is seated properly in the slot.

The ram may not be fully compatible with your laptop.

How to install new ram into the 2840

Unplug the machine. On the right side of the machine you will find a cover. Remove the cover and you will find 1 open slot. The machine can take a total of 224MB (96 is built into the machine) leaving 128 available. The memory type is 100pin, 133MHz, SDRAM DIMM.

Simply click the memory into the blank slot and replace the cover.

Once completed, plug the machine back in and print a configuration page. The memory total should be at 224 once you have installed your 128MB.
