The horspower rating does not indicate cooling area, this is usually done in BTU's and therms and tons. What is the rating for these on your air conditioner.
Here is a link to the consumer guide on sizing an air conditioner. If you find this helpful I would appreciate a vote on the thumbs up for the free information. Thanks.

Hi, I assume it is ducted, it could be either a flapper door is closed to shut off an area from receiving air, or there is a blockage in the duct (less likely). Also if there is more than one duct attached to the air conditioner then you'll have to check if air is entering all ducts (you may have a problem with the unit).

Air Conditoner not cooling entire room

I would guess by the question you posted that at one point this air conditioner DID cool the entire room. If that is in fact the case then chances are you have either 1. A dirty air filter, which can be found underneath the front grill of the unit, or 2. A dirty condenser coil, the coil found on the back of the unit, that is outdoors while the air conditioner is in the window. If this coil gets clogged up, then the proper heat transfer will not take place, and you will not get proper cooling. Hope this helps.

My Ac do not cool enouhg, even it doesnt cool anything, i have my windows close and there is no equipment that produce heat!

Hi Cafe,
Ensure that the the discharge (hot air) is properly routed outside. Take temperature readings of the intake air (room air entering the unit) and the outtake air (cold air coming out of the unit). If the temperature difference is approx 18 to 22 degF, you might need more capacity. I believe your unit is 8,000 BTU. This is considered very small capacity. Not knowing what your situation is, it could be the right size. Below is a link to a site that will allow you to input information regarding the area you are trying to cool. It will calculate the BTU's needed to cool the area.

My unit is not cooling.

This may sound idiotic but is the control set to COOL or snowflake symbol? Also set the temperature as low as it can go 16 degress or 18 if thats what your unit can go to. If the unit does not cool now, try cleaning the filters. If it does not cool after this, and the fiilters are cleans and the temp is as low as it goes, there may be a refrigerant leak and the system will need to be serviced. Hope all goes well.

When the control is set on air conditioning, it has recently started to dehumidify also on that setting. What to do? The unit is 5 years old.

I'm sorry is the unit set on COOL (snowflake) or DRY (raindrop) All air conditioner will dehumidify when in cooling mode. That is just the dynamics of air conditioning. The air should still be cool depending on your settings. if the air is not cool and you have confirmed that it is in cooling mode, check that the filters are clean and if they are have the system serviced.

Fujitsu air conditioner - too much humidity

This can happen if the unit is too small for the room. Going by the model number I sounds like a big unit. I would also try cleaning the filters. Also set the temperature higher.
