Your Card needs to be formatted to do this:

Place the card in the camera.
There are 2 buttons on the D70 that say "Format".
They are both in red.
One on the top right button of the camera and the other is to the left of the viewfinder.
Press them at the same time for 3 seconds.
The lcd will blink "For".
Press the 2 buttons again.
Done.

SOURCE: Camera won't snap a picture. In the viewfinder it

This usually indicates a problem with your CF card. The "FOR" stands for "format", so try formatting the card. You can also try formatting the card in your computer, and then formatting again in camera.

If you happen to use the card in other cameras, the presence of images or camera-related data files on the card may interfere with the camera. Try to keep cards for different cameras separate from each other.

It can also indicate that the CF card is failing, in which case your only resolution is to get a replacement.

A somewhat less common problem is that the contact pins in the camera's CF card compartment are bent, in which case you would need to bring the camera in for service.

Picture shift slightltly upwards than viewfinder

The viewfinder of your camera covers about 95% of the picture that is shot. So you should see less in the viewfinder than what is on your photo. So not only to the bottom, but also on top and on the sides, should be more on the picture than in your viewfinder. If the whole picture really shifts, and something is not on the picture, of what you saw in the viewfinder, something must be wrong with your camera. Was it ever dropped? because that could have shifted the pentaprism in the viewfinder. Or the mirror just behind the lens could be a little off?
As long as your pictures cover what you would have in the picture, and they are sharp, don't bother.

My LCD monitor won't light up to take a picture but it does when I review those I have taken thru the viewfinder

Most screens can be turned off for low battery usage. Check battery with tester or have it tested or replace battery and check menu and see if review screen is turned off. Rich

My camera won't focus!

While looking through the viewfinder, turn the diopter adjustment knob just above and right of the viewfinder to adjust it until the focus marks and other information in the viewfinder become sharp to your eye.

The view finder darkens every time i take pictures

That's how a DSLR camera works. When you are setting up the shot, the image through the lens is reflected by a mirror up to the viewfinder. When you snap the picture, the mirror flips out of the way so the image can be registered on the sensor and then the mirror flips back. So, for that time, there is no image in the viewfinder.

When I look through the viewfinder, there viewfinder is black. It's fine when reviewing old images but not when in "take" mode.

It is symptom of ccd imager chip failure in your Canon A75 camera, replacement of ccd imager chip by local camera repair shop will solve this problem and camera will start showing live view in camera mode to take fresh pictures.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

I am unable to see what I am taking a picture of.

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

Pictures are pink with lines

The camera is a wonderful Kodak product and takes beautiful 8.5 Megapixel photographs. When you save the pictures to an SD card, you must at some point remove them digitally from the card.
Either by linking it to the USB cable and going from there to your PC, OR by removing the SD card from the camera and inserting it into an SD card slot in your computer, printer, or card reader. Occasionally the card readers such as the ones in your PC, printer, or card reader devices do not connect properly and will only transfer part of the data, resulting in pink ugly lined photographs. This problem can be fixed by using the USB cable instead of the built in card readers in your other devices.
