My HP pcs 2210 states "remove and check cartridge". I have and still am not sure whats wrong.

    I've cleaned both cartridges and returned them and still get the same message. I dont have a replacement black cartridge, but will replace it tomorrow and see how that works. I've noticed large amounts of black ink in the storage area where the cartridges retreat to. Could this be an indicator of more trouble, or maybe just a bad black ink cartridge?

Check the terminals on the front of the cartridge, also the fine wire connections inside the printer, inside the cartridge holder to see if any have snapped. These contacts can be cleaned with a cotton bud and Rubbing alcohol, LCD Screen Cleaner or similar. If the cartridge is past its use-by date it can also generate this message.

    That is an indicator of the waste pads being over-saturated. switch the power off when the cartridges are in the middle of the printer and try soaking up the excess ink with tissue paper. It will simply save any future streaking issues. Good luck.

please take out the print cartridge
wait for the insert cartridge message to appear
unplug the power cord
wait for 2-3 minutes
please clean the golden contacts of the carriage with a cotton swab dipped in little acohol.
plug the power cord back in
turn the unit on and reinsert the cartridiges

check for functionality

I have an hp 2210 All-In-One printer. Check print cartredges


Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.
If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:
1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.
2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.
3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.
Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

I changed my black ink and now i get the message left cartridge incorrect..how do i fix it?


HP PSC 2210 InkJet Printer. The following has to be done for checking the Blank Ink Catridge working : 01. Remove the existing Black catridge and Color Catridges from the Printer carefully. 02. Clean the location with a soft cloth with cleaning liquid to make the place dust free. 03. Put the correct black and colour cartridges recommended by HP and that too genuine one. 04. Do not use any refilled or reinked local catridges that will spoil the HP PSC 2210 printer. 05. Re-install the catridges both Black and Colour properly. 06. Take a test print out - both black and colour print outs. 07. Check the Printer status and there is no warning of Cartridges wrongly inserted. Have a Good day.

HP 6110 check cartridge error won't clear with new cartridges. Anyone know how to fix this?


Hi,

You could try this way first as its a lot quicker and easier than the official steps from HP:

Just hold down the ENTER button and then press the MENU button. There will be a series of 3 fast, high beeps. Then everything resists and is a-okay. Both problems go away.

OR The HP way as listed below:

The ink cartridge-related error messages may occur due to one
of the following reasons:

* The ink cartridge does not make a proper electrical contact
* The cartridge is bad or wrong
* The cartridge is remanufactured or refilled

To resolve the error, follow these steps:

Step one: Check the print cartridges and clean the cartridge contacts

Even if the cartridge is new, follow these steps to clean the print
cartridge contacts. Print cartridges have a substance on the contacts
to keep them from corroding during storage that may cause poor
electrical contact between the print carriage and the print cartridge.

1. Verify that the product is turned on.

NOTE: If the HP product is not turned on, you will not be able to
remove the print cartridges.

2. Open the top cover or the cartridge access door in one of the
following ways:

* Pull the control panel forward and then lift the top section
toward the back.
* Open the access door on the left or right of the unit. This door
may be located under the scanner glass lid on some flatbed
products.
* On many flatbed products, you raise the front center section of
the unit to access the print cartridges.
* Raise the cartridge access door on the front of the product.

3. After the print carriage stops moving, unplug the power cord. You
must unplug the power cord to prevent the print carriage from
moving.

4. Remove both print cartridges.

5. Verify that the part number on the cartridge is the correct part
number for the all-in-one and that the carriage is not blocked
preventing the cartridges from moving. Visit the following HP Web

6. The electrical contacts of the print cartridge are coated with a
thin layer of grease to protect them from oxidation. This grease
may inhibit the electrical connection and should be removed. Using
a cotton swab or cloth lightly moistened with distilled, filtered,
or bottled water, clean the electrical contacts of the cartridge.
This usually occurs with a new ink cartridge, but may also occur
with an older cartridge.

NOTE: When an all-in-one is used frequently for black and white
printing but infrequently for color printing (for example,
an all-in-one that is used primarily as a fax machine), the
color cartridge will still eventually fail and need to be
replaced. The pins in the print carriage can cause dents
on the contact points of the color cartridge over time
(usually between six and twelve months).

7. Wipe the contacts with a dry, cotton cloth.
8. Reinsert the cartridges and lock them in place.
9. Close the top cover or access door and plug in the power cord.
10. If the error persists, repeat these steps. If further cleaning
fails to resolve the error, proceed to "Step two: Clean the
print carriage contacts" section.

Step two: Clean the print carriage contacts

Have the following materials available to clean the print carriage
contacts:

* Cotton swabs or any soft material that will not come apart or leave
fibers (for example, a scrap piece of clean cotton cloth).
* Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water may contain
contaminants that can damage the print cartridges).

CAUTION: Be careful not to get ink on hands or clothing.

To clean the cartridge contacts inside the product, follow these steps:

1. Turn on the unit.
2. Open the top cover or cartridge access door.
3. After the print carriage stops moving, unplug the power cord.
4. Remove both print cartridges.
5. Using a cotton swab or cloth lightly moistened with distilled,
filtered, or bottled water, clean the electrical contacts of the
print carriage.
6. On models equipped with locking latches, lower the latches.
7. Wait five to ten minutes for the contacts to dry and then plug in
the power cord. The unit will begin to reinitialize. Wait until
the process is complete before proceeding.
8. Reinsert the print cartridges when prompted and then close the top
cover or access door.
9. If the message recurs, replace the print cartridge indicated by the
message.

* If you are using refilled or remanufactured cartridges or non-HP
cartridges, replace them with new HP cartridges. HP cannot
guarantee that refilled or non-HP cartridges will function
correctly in HP products.


10. If the problem still exists, replace both print cartridges. Since
the cartridges are electronically connected through the printed
circuit board, the cartridge not indicated in the message might be
the causing the failure.

OfficeJet 6100 series must also be connected to your PC and turned on
before proceeding.
3. Locate the file "HpAiOFWUpdate2_2" on your hard drive and
double-click the file to install the firmware update.

Printer shows remove and check print...


maybe it suffered loss connection between the printer and the printhead just try to clean it..with alcohol..or maybe you print cartridge has in it's low ink state..

Dial says to remove cartridges and check. Have replaced cartridge


After cleaning cartridges and replacing refilled black ink, I removed blck ink and replaced with HP 58 photo ink. this aborted the "check cartridges freeze". I still cannot align cartridges after removing #58 and replacing with new HP 57. the operation starts but will not complete.

Any suggestions on how to align cartridges?

H P psc 2210 printer will not accept ink cartridges have used from this supplier in the past with no problems display reads "remove and check cartridge" this I have done but no cure.


Are you using cartridges that have been refilled? If so I would go buy brand new HP ink cartridges or I would find known working but used cartridges and try again. The ink cartridges on any inkjet type printer are not made to be refilled and if you were to call HP about this problem they would tell you to replace the ink cartridges with new ones and try again.

I also have the same problem , i own HP 2410 , you have 2 options , one of them is of course get some new cartridge ,the other option is take a couple of Q tips ,get some A/V HEAD cleaning solution , remove both cartridge , and apply a wet QTIP where the cartridges make contact , looks like Gold dots ,do a nice cleaning (also cartridge contact ) put them back on and lets hope it works.
