There are at least four rollers that support the drum. Seems like at least one has a chunk missing or has a bad bearing. Replace all four as they are of the same age and will fail one after the other.

Why does my dryer clunk

This clunk your talking about most the time is a balance issue. Sometimes can be solved in the legs just being adjusted up or down under the driver to level it properly, Most case you want the dryer to lean a little back to compensate for the spin when drying. Sometimes the clunk can come from uneven loads in dryer, if does the clunk when nothing even in the dryer can be the drum itself has level arms that need to be adjusted and worst case, the barring is going out. Try the easiest fix first and leveling the legs. Hope this helps. Mike

The dryer made a clunk sound and the tumbler stop rotating

Sounds like you belt has either broke or came off. If you were rotating the drum by hand in the counter clockwise direction when it clunked, there is a pulley kit to fix that problem. If it was just running when it clunked the belt probably just broke. Hope that helps

Clunking sound at startup and seems to hesitate

UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine,
Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:

Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Dryer making loud clunking noise

Make sure the drum is not catching the back panel, and that the fan is not loose on the motor.

Washer makes clunking noises.......

You didn't give to much detail about the noise, other then clunking. Does it sound like it's metal against metal? Does it sound hollow? When does the noise take place before, during or after the spin cycle.

The easiest thing to do is check to see if the motor is loose, or if you might have too much slop or slake in the belt, if you do then replace and readjust the belt.

LG DRYER MAKING CLUNKING NOISE

Look inside the drum at the seam, front and back side. The weld on the stainless steel drum may have cracked. You would need to replace part number 3045EL1002F. It is moderatly difficult to replace.

Clunking noise

The clunking noise may be a broken weld on the drum.  Every time it turns and passes through the guide wheel supports, it makes a thunk thunk noise.  You will need to have a qualified LG technician diagnose the problem correctly but that's what it sounds like.
