SOURCE: Generator runs, but does not generate electricity

Reset / tickled? There are resistors and diodes in the end of the alternators rotor (the bit in the middle that spins) If these look ok visually then change the capacitor which is a barrel shaped object usually with 4 prongs on the end. Without a capacitor the genset will not produce a voltage.

SOURCE: cranks fast but wont start

Hi, You did a good job of diagnosing your problem. Gas in bowl and dry plugs, starts with fluid, But, to quote you, "won't go through carb" . If you feel confident, you should disassemble and clean the carb, as that is going to be the problem. As a tip, if the genset is going to sit make sure to turn off the fuel flow to the engine and run till the engine dies. They do not like to sit any length of time with fuel in the carb. Good Luck, this should Fixya!

SOURCE: VALSI 5,500 WATT GENERATOR WILL NOT START

All generators need to be run once a month. All things from the tank to the and including the carb will get gummed up with dried out fuel. I have a whole house generator and a 5500 watt gen set on my motor home. I keep fresh fuel in the stand alone house generator in California in case of a bad earthquake. I drain the gas after every run and keep all vehicles full of fuel just in case. Run gen sets at least once a month or pay pay pay!!

SOURCE: poulan saw wont start has spark and fuel

Look for a pinched/bare stop-switch wire (I assume that you don't have spark now). Also, check the ignition coil core gap to the flywheel magnets (I use card stock to set the gap). Make sure the plug wire was not damaged again.

Well, Propane / LPG fuel are in a compressed liquid state in the bottle and have to decompress to a gaseous state before entering the engine.
If you have a bad regulator, liquid gas will make its way through the fuel line causing inconsistent levels of fuel to air mixtures.
All this can change based on the outside ambient temperature, since pressure and temperature are directly related. (The science behind air conditioning)
It sounds like your fuel mixture is running too rich and the engine is flooding with liquid gas that hasn't been vaporized. I can only speculate based on the limited information you've provided. If liquid gas found its way into the engine, that would describe the sputtering effect you describing.

Run fuel line from truck tank to 13hp honda engine

This will work if the 13hp engine has its own fuel pump to draw fuel from the tank. Sounds like a good idea, use as mush steel line as possible to prevent line damage and associated leaks.

Honda GX160 runs fine for 5 minutes then dies like out of fuel.

I would look for the fuel filter. Blow it our. I know you have a new tank of gas, but you might want to empty it out and make sure the clean and put in new. Even with Stabil in the gas you might just have to much condensation in the tank

My 13hp honda generator won't run.I have cleaned the fuel bowl, new plug, air cleaner, evan removed air cleaner assembly off side of engine,I can get it to start, after much cranking, but it will not run for...

You cleaned the fuel bowl? Was there any dirt, etc, in it? How does the fuel line look? How about the bottom of the fuel tank? How old is the fuel?

From your description, it 'sounds' like a fuel system problem. If it's a Honda EU3000is, it has Electronic Ignition, and electronic ignition usually just goes out all the way, not slowly.

The fuel line is small, and easily obstructed. Does fuel flow when the fuel line is removed from the carburetor? After the generator starts, runs, then dies, remove the float bowl. How much gas is present?

Observe the float. See if it's in good repair.
Check the float needle. See if the rubber (Neoprene) tip is squished, or is still in good shape.
Could be that when gas fills the float bowl, the float raises, then gets stuck in the up position, cutting off the gas flow.

Engine surges and shuts down

When your running out of gas the dirt, grime, and gunk is all you have left except water and that may cause it to surge then slow down irrelevant to the gas pedal pressure.
I've had a similar problem when I ran out of gas
I would try a can of expensive fuel cleaner and a can of dry gas before anything else but that's just me!
