Question about Maytag Microwave Ovens
If the light comes on when you open the door the fuse is okay. If the timer seems okay, there is some life. The three things that fail are the high voltage transformer, cap and diode. The capactor - large metal can - is first choise to fail followed by the diode and then transformer. These parts work at around 2000 volts or more depending on size of the oven and should not be replaced or approached unless one is skilled in this type of repair. These can be leathel parts to handle. Also improper repairs can cause excessive radiation leaks.......... take it to a qualified repair shop.
