Question about Vodafone Mobile Connect (055270) Wireless Adapter
I faced the same problem before a day on my Windows XP laptop. I un-installed the PC-Suite software, and problem got resolved. The issue is the conflict between two Internet Provider's softwares. Please try uninstalling any such softwares on your laptop/PC.

did the software self install?maybe you need to updates it for your machine providing you have your account topped up.is the vodfone a prepay or contracted account?
If account then call vodafone,
if prepay,check sim card is working
also you could turn off your fire wall or set the permission levels on the fire wall to allow it to access the internet,
your anti virus protection levels may need adjusting also
