Welcome to FixYa.

I will be more happy to help you in your issue about your camera, however I'm not be able to see the model of your Fujifilm. I just want to verify if this was the correct model number S2940.

There where some option where you can disable some mode of shooting. In this case we need to get the correct model number/name so I can check and give you the steps on how we can changed the mode of shooting.

Thank you for using FixYa.

the consumer has the right model. place the tip of your index finger on the shutter button (to take a picture) and on the edge of the outer ring of the shutter button simultaneously to push halfway; then once you set your focus on the object you want to shoot, push the tip of your index finger all the way down to take a picture. with practice, you can do it.

Sometimes the model # S2940 will not come up on website/search data bases. This model was made specifically for Walmart (which sells at a cheaper price to consumers.) It is the exact same model as the S2950, which sells at other stores for a higher price.

How do I date stamps pictures on my Finepix S2940?

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

How to set shutter speed in fuji fine pix S2940

That depends on the exposure mode. In any of the automatic point&shoot modes you have no control over the shutter speed, the camera sets what it thinks is the proper shutter speed. In the P (Program AE) mode you can adjust the shutter speed by pressing the +/- button. In the S (Shutter Priority) and M (Manual) modes you control the shutter speed by pressing the +/- button and then using the cursor-up/down buttons.

In the right column, you can find a link to the pdf user's guide, below the catalogue. The manual is 100+ pages long, so you should have more than enough information.
