My HP Pavillion dv6000 won't recognize the RW CD/DVD. How do I correct this issue?

Check device manger and see if it is listed, if not reboot and see if you can enter bios setup, see if it is listed. If it is not, replace the drive

just unjack the code and re connect it then start your PC, hope it will solve your problem

download the drivers for this unit from manufactuers website and install them,then check your device manager again

You first remove that device from device manager.
Then restart the pc.
You may check the BIOS menu for that device for any clarification.
After restart since u have removed it the OS will detect the device and install it automatically.

you have to send it back to hp to get it fixed, this is the second time mine had the same problem

i'm having HP PAVILLION DV6000 and OS is VISTA HOME PREMIUM .My problem is that my system does'nt show any dvd drive in MY COMPUTER. I am having PIONEER DVDRW DVR-K17B ATA Device .device manager show a yellow icon and tells that it needs driver. It was working properly before.

Go to device manager and then right click on properties, and then there should be a seciton on region code.

Hi, i use an HP pavillion dv6000 with Optiarc dvd rw ad -7561a ata (light scribe). i tried installing a softwear after which my dvd rom will not work it was complaining of driver corruption. i did uninstall and re- installed th driver from the system hard drive. but it will not install correctly. my computer can also not read drive E anymore. can some one help please.
