Question about Cuisinart DLC-5 Food Processor

1 Answer

I called your toll free number on July 7th 2008 and related to them that the disc stem was stripped and would not allow the processor to turn. They ordered a new one for me and told me to send a check for $19.96 which includes the money for parts and shipping. I send the check to Radio Equipment 77 Court W Right Street Fort Erie, ON L2A 2R5. They have yet not cashed the check and I still have not received the part. The reference number they gave me is #8948225. I called back this morning - 1-800-231-9786 and then I called parts at 1-800-738-0245 - I waited a total of 17 minutes listening to boring music and messages to email applicacomsumeraffairs@fox-international.com. I am extremely frusterated with this whole process. I just want my food processor in working condition! Could someone please HELP!!!

I have a Kitchen Aid KPF700 Food Processor and need to replace the bowl. I can't seem to find that part available. Is it too old?

The unit has been retired, but Kitchenaid may still parts available. I would recommend to call Kitchenaid Customer Service and speak with their parts department. Their toll-free telephone number is:

Need to clean inside of handle on KitchenAid food processor

The plastic for the work bowl / handle is molded and one piece and cannot be disassembled. My best recommendation is to call Kitchenaid customer service to see what recommendations they have. Within one year warranty, they may replace the work bowl at no cost.

Their toll-free number is: 1-800-541-6390.

My disc stem is stuck and will not come out.

Without careful use and care, there is a possibility that the disc stem can become fused with the motor shaft. If excess pressure is being applied to the slicing or shredding disc, this can cause immense friction and cause the plastic disc stem to "weld" onto the motor base itself.

I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what options are available.

I am unable to remove the disc stem

There is no mechanism to lock the stem onto the base of the KFP750. It's just held on by gravity, so you're not missing anything simple!

It's possible that the soap dust got in there and glued in on. Take a blow dryer or very hot rag (use tongs!) to the stem to see if you can soften the soap, then pull up the stem.

Kitchen aid model kfp 7 The wide slicer disk cut into the top of the cover leaving pieces of plastic in the sliced potatoes. What would cause this to happen.

This may be caused by a number of factors. Most commonly, it is because the work bowl is being over-filled or too much pressure is being exerted on ingredients as they fall through the feed tube. Doing this may cause the disc to come off balance and start sheering plastic.

Call Kitchenaid Customer Service and provide them with this description. They will replace the unit free of charge, regardless of it's age or warranty. Their toll-free telephone number is:
