SOURCE: no power

Mine died about 5 days ago, About Feb 5 09.

Fix was very simple. it involved a drill, a soldering iron, and spare capacitors.

Open up the unit. Spot all bad capacitors. in my case, a 820uf 10v ELNA capacitor was to blame, it had exploded adn opened up. Desolder the bad capacitor, Replace it with a good one, like matsushita or rubycon or nichicon. Random brands like CAPXONS and ELNA and Fuhjyuus are known to die fast. in my case, it got swapped with a matsushita. then the unit powered up again.

I found it funny that panasonic did not use a single one of their own capacitors in teh making of the unit. i spotted lots of Nichicons, which are really good, then lots of ELNAs which are bad, one Capxon and some matsushitas.

SOURCE: after power surge, canon I9900 printer will not turn on?

You can try to power up with the printhead out, that sometimes causes it to not power up. Otherwise that machine is fried since you can't get a replacement logic pcb anymore.

SOURCE: After Power Outage, wont power up...

did you try the pwr button on the console not just on the remote?

it might have still been fried, some electronics are sensitive- or it was in the middle of an update

All LED lights flashing on Brother HL-2140, how do you clear it?

Your printer needs servicing due to a fault on its electronics. This is due to a power surge or spikes cause by an abnormality in your power distribution system or your power transmission/distribution lines might have been struck by a lightning during a storm and its breakers have failed to cut the power.

As a precautionary measure, always plug electronic devices on surge protectors.

Send your printer to your nearest Brother Service Centers.

Had a power outage for several hours. Power came back on but the printer came on with all lights blinking. Turned power off and back on but the same problem. What's happened, and what do I do?

Nearly all later printers have circuits that stay 'alive' even with the power turned off. Try pulling the AC plug overnight' this should clear most stored errors that may still be present.

Power outage and now my brother HL-5250DN Laser printer won't work. Removed it and plugged back in. It installed automatically but won't print. Using Win 7

Your printer may have experienced damage to electronic components with the outage, especially if due to a lightning strike causing the outage. You should have a shop troubleshoot and decide if it will need a new board, such as a formatter/logic board.
