When you turn on the PS3 one beep is good, two beeps are bad. Two beeps will require a service call to support.

Common causes for this are:

• Faulty connections, the cables are not seated properly or damaged.
• Faulty television, you will need to test the input jack with another device such as a vcr or dvd player
• The output selector in the PS3 is set to the wrong output. HDMI / Component / Composite. If you have mistakenly changed the output in the menu from HDMI (one cable) to the Compsite (Red yellow white cables) or vice versus the PS3 is attempting to output to the other connection.

While the system is off, hold down the power button until it turn on and keep holding it until it beeps and turns off again.

This will reset the PS3 to the defaults settings, the default connection will be RCA Composite so make sure you have the red yellow white cables connected to your tv which came with the system.
