Did you re-format from a XP Disk or from a Dell disk? If it was the first then you must go to Dell.com/support to download the correct "Chipset" and other device drivers for the On-Board Accessories to work.

Check all the connections to make sure they are solid. Try different cables if possible. You may have to get the network drivers using another computer and loading them with a cd or usb drive.

You may want to check your motherboard to see if any capacitors (round cylindars) are bulging or leaking. If they are you have a bad motherboard.

My computer dosnt have an audio device it is a dell optiplex gx 280 can you please give me a link so that i can download an audio driver

There's a collection of drivers for the GX280 for Windows 2000 and XP on the Dell website: http://is.gd/ejJcM
If you're running a later version of the operating system (for example a 32 bit version of Windows 7) this webpage might have a solution that will help: http://is.gd/ejJmo (Microsoft Technet community)

Sound problems after reinstallation of windows

Did you install it to the factroy default installation or did you install windows anew?

You need to install the Dell sound drivers. They're found on the dell home page or on your media that came with the Optiplex.

Also, check the system control / administtration / hardware section to see if windows potted a problem with the hardware.

NMI:parity check /memory parity error

In my experience, you get a memory parity error when one of your memory sticks has gone bad.
I don't know how many sticks of memory you have or what size they are, but you can try removing one and see if the error goes away. If not, remove another and try again.

You're probably looking at buying some new memory. If so, use the opportunity to increase your memory within the limits of your operating system.

Win XP, 32 bit, will see up to about 3.2MB of RAM
64 bit can see over that up to about 8MB

Very very very slow performance

That is way off buddy should take no more than 1 hour to install and you should be able to boot up into windows in 30 seconds or less. I suggest you first run a virus checker. You probably have a virus that is why it is taking so long. If their are too many virus;s then wipe all the data off your hard drive and reinstall. That will get rid of the virus. Also run disk cleanup and disk defrag that are in the accessories/system tools. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.
